King Charles has been slammed for his behaviour during his high-profile trip to the United States, with many questioning why he wouldn’t use the time to see his family.
The monarch is currently in America for an official state visit, where he and Queen Camilla were welcomed by Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at the White House earlier this week.
The visit, which includes meetings with political leaders and a planned address to Congress, is aimed at strengthening relations between the UK and the US during a tense global climate.

However, the King’s presence in the US has also reignited scrutiny around his personal relationships, particularly with his son Prince Harry and grandchildren Archie and Lilibet.
Taking to social media, GMB contributor Narinder Kaur shared her thoughts and questioned the priorities behind the trip.
She wrote: “Sorry, I genuinely can’t understand a man who will go across the world to meet Trump (who slagged off our armed forces) and not even go see his grandkids and son.
“How many years has it been since Charles has seen Archie and Llibet?”

Her comments quickly sparked debate online, with some agreeing that the King’s visit highlighted the ongoing distance within the Royal Family.
Many people pointed out that the trip is an official state visit, meaning the King’s schedule is tightly controlled and focused on diplomatic duties rather than personal engagements. A few people tried to use the tired narrative and blame Meghan Markle, and others highlighted how far away Washington D.C. is from Montecito (around 3,000 miles), noting it wasn’t an easy trip to just ‘fit in’.
Charles’ relationship with Prince Harry has been under strain in recent years, following the Duke of Sussex’s decision to step back from royal duties in 2020 and relocate to the US with Meghan Markle.

Their children, the King’s grandkids, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, have largely been kept out of the public eye with only occasional glimpses shared by Harry and Meghan.
The King last saw Archie during a brief UK visit in 2022, while it is believed he has met Lilibet only a handful of times.
His current US visit comes at a politically sensitive time, with Britain keen to reinforce its relationship with America amid international tensions.
During the trip, Charles and Camilla will attend a number of formal engagements, including a reception at the White House and a garden party at the British Embassy.
