Gregg Wallace has broken his silence after MasterChef announced its new all-female line-up. The former greengrocer, 60, fronted the BBC show with John Torode, also 60, for 21 years before they were both given the sack following an investigation into inappropriate behaviour.
After months of uncertainty for the programme it has been announced that I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! star and food critic, Grace Dent, will be taking over the reigns alongside Irish chef and restauranteur, Anna Haugh.
Taking to Instagram, hours after the news was announced, Gregg popped up in his kitchen, sporting a black Nike vest, urging his followers to “look after yourselves better”.

Telling his fans he was “determined to help people” as he dished out dietary advice, he said: “So many people wait until they’re hungry before they decide what it is they’re going to eat, so they end up grabbing at stuff with disastrous consequences for your health and it’s expensive.
“If you plan your meals in advance, you are far more likely to make a healthy choice.” Telling fans they can message him on Instagram if they want more advice, Gregg added: “I also do live TikToks at 7am and 7pm.”

Speaking out about his sacking from MasterChef in the summer, when Gregg was axed from the show after inappropriate behaviour while working for the BBC – the dad-of-three insisted he is “not a groper, a sex pest or a flasher”.
Gregg apologised after a report, commissioned by the cooking show’s production company Banijay UK, found 45 out of 83 allegations were substantiated.
In an interview with The Sun, he said: “I know I have said things that offended people… I understand that now – and to anyone I have hurt, I am so sorry.”

Gregg’s replacement, Grace, who has made regular appearances over the years in her role as a restaurant critic – has already filmed a full series of Celebrity MasterChef alongside John, which has not yet aired.
While the BBC said that no decision had yet been taken about when it will air, with the now axed Aussie as the co-host, it seems likely that it will be shown later this year in the November slot, which is normally home to MasterChef: The Professionals.

John lost his job on the show just days after Gregg was axed, following an upheld complaint about his use of racist language.
Responding, he insisted he had “absolutely no recollection” of the alleged incident involving him and he “did not believe that it happened,” adding “racial language is wholly unacceptable in any environment”.
