Jane McDonald ISSUES moving message after private heartbreak resurfaces
In one of Jane McDonald’s beloved travel series the Channel 5 star has ticked off one of her ‘bucket list’ places
Jane McDonald dusted off her passport once again to embark on a remarkable journey around the Caribbean.
This Sunday (April 26) morning, Channel 5 viewers will be treated to a repeated episode of Holidaying with Jane McDonald, as she discovers the sun-kissed beaches of Grenada, filmed back in 2022.
While riding in a taxi en route to the airport at the start of her adventure, Jane told viewers she’s had ‘a blast’ travelling solo so far.
Speaking directly to the camera, she said: “I know there are a lot of us out there now who are single, if you’re single and you want to do the Caribbean, do it!
“I promise you, you’ll have a brilliant time. Don’t be afraid, just take that first step. If I can do it, you can do it.”

Her heartfelt message to viewers came just one year after she lost her partner, Eddie Rothe, who died at the age of 67 from lung cancer, reports the Mirror.
Before Eddie sadly died, the pair had been together for 13 years. They first met when Jane was 17 years old, dating briefly before parting ways.
Despite going their separate ways, they rekindled their romance and got engaged back in 2008.

Earlier in her travel series, Jane openly admitted that seeing happy couples can sometimes trigger her.
While visiting St Lucia, she said: “A lot of you know that my life has changed now. And I’m, I’m single.
“I chose this place because I didn’t want to be on a romantic island, on my own, looking at couples everywhere.

“So this place is very open to singles coming here as well as couples. It’s got lots of activities if you want. So it’s really up to you whether you have a quiet holiday or a full active holiday.”
Since that time, Jane has embarked on numerous other travel adventures, having explored Kenya, Cyprus, the Canary Islands and, most recently, Nashville.
During a recent instalment of her Nashville series, Jane was reduced to tears after recording her album at the legendary Blackbird Studios.

Through tears, she said: “”It’s blown my mind a little bit really. When I started here I thought ‘what am I doing?’ I’ve always felt my heart is in country as I’m a story teller. And when I write songs I write a story and this is my story.
“All of my life I’ve sort of been the underdog. Never give up, If I’ve learned anything form being in Nashville I just never gave up. I fought all the way through. It’s been a struggle. I’m not going to lie. This industry is hard – very, very hard.”
