Jeremy Clarkson has issued a devastating announcement about this year’s harvest at Diddly Squat Farm. The former Top Gear presenter, 66, took to Instagram this weekend with a snapshot from the BBC weather report, which showed Sunday’s (August 9) temperature at 29 degrees Celsius in Chipping Norton, where his farm is located.
Monday is forecast to each highs of 24 degrees, but Wednesday is a predicted temperature of 31 and Thursday of 34 as the UK braces for a fresh heatwave. Droughts have gripped parts of the country, with Wisley in Surrey recording 52 consecutive days without rain and Coningsby in Lincolnshire recording 43.

On Instagram, Jeremy wrote: “Harvest already f***ed. May as well just enjoy it now.”
Fans rushed to support him, with one writing: “If it carries on you’ll need to apply to be a contestant on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire just to get your money back!”
Someone else said: “A lot of farming around my way, and the struggle is real.”
A third echoed: “I haven’t stopped thinking about all the farmers this summer. The countless heatwaves have ruined food production and we’re going to be feeling the pinch sooner rather than later.”

Jeremy was quick to respond to one critic, who pointed out: “Sir Jezza… you’re a multimillionaire. Stay calm and carry on!”
Jeremy replied: “Most farmers aren’t. Spare a thought for them eh?”
And when another pointed out that Jezza still has Hawkstone beer to enjoy, he said: “Yes, but it’s made from British barley and this year… Jesus.”
