Good Morning Britain star Femi Oluwole has sparked backlash with his controversial post, following Ann Widdecombe’s death. Last week, the death of the former Reform UK minister hit the headlines, with police later launching a murder investigation into her passing. Following the announcement, the 36-year-old broadcaster took to TikTok to share a now-deleted video where he criticised the politician’s career following her death.
In this video, he began: “I am not celebrating her death because it p*sses me off.” He went on to address the deleted post with a follow-up clip reacting to the news that the former Tory MP had been brutally murdered.
Mr Oluwole added: “The tone of my video definitely aged poorly, so I am very, very grateful that the content did not because I stand by the content. I’ve always said I do not want people like Nigel Farage, Boris Johnson, Ann Widdecombe to die because that doesn’t feel like justice to me. Justice for me is them being in jail.
“We went through all this with Charlie Kirk. I opposed his murder, but I was not going to pretend that I was sad about his death.” He has since released another video one week on, admitting he “f***ed up” in an explosive rant.
The broadcaster began: “I f***ed up with Ann Widdecombe because I, the fool that I am, assumed that a 78-year-old woman dying would be natural causes. I assumed that there wouldn’t be somebody out there who chose life in prison over simply waiting.
“But because I messed up that time, I’m not going to talk; I’m going to keep my mouth shut on this topic until we know for sure what the motive was.” It didn’t take long for viewers to flock to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their outrage at his comments online.

One user penned: “Femi admits that he fecked up over Ann, can’t believe that the murderer just didn’t wait for her to go naturally! [two shocked emojis] A nasty s**t [angry emoji].”
Another agreed: “What a POS, just shows the mentality on the left, just to the right thing: say f**k all. He can’t even show sympathy for an old lady being brutally murdered.” A third fumed: “These people disgust me.”
