Meghan Markle is said to have been talking about her recent visit alongside Prince Harry to see King Charles last month, reportedly breaking a rule not to discuss the meeting. US homemaking guru Martha Stewart told People the Duchess of Sussex, 45, had discussed the royal gathering at the King’s Highgrove estate last month during a recent dinner party.
The claim comes as the Palace reportedly banned any mention of the face-to-face, which was the first time King Charles had seen his daughter-in-law and two grandchildren Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, since 2022. Meghan shared no images from Highgrove, but did post a slew of other images from the couple’s trip on her Instagram.
Ms Stewart, 85, told People she had been at a dinner with Meghan in Californiafollowing the Sussexes UK visit and that the Duchess had just “gotten back from the palace” and she “was talking about” her visit to Highgrove. Sources close to the Duchess of Sussex have since denied the claim and said veteran homemaker Ms Stewart “must have been confused”.
Despite previously using her public profile to back causes close to her heart, such as dyslexia charities, the Princess has flown under the radar as scrutiny around the York family continues. Following her birthday on Saturday, a royal insider revealed exactly how Beatrice spent her special day after such a gruelling 12-months.
Speaking to The Sun, a royal insider said: “Don’t expect any big celebrations. It is going to be a remarkably low-key, almost gloomy birthday this year. In the past, Beatrice loved a grand celebration. She was the life and soul of the party. But how can you celebrate when your family name is dragged through the mud on a daily basis?
“She has been deeply distressed at times. There will be no fanfare, just a small gathering including her devoted husband Edoardo and the children. It’s a deeply sad state of affairs.”

Prince Harry and his travel company, Travalyst, have been shortlisted for another award, it has been announced. The Duke of Sussex founded the not-for-profit organisation Travayst in 2019 to make tourism more environmentally friendly. It was confirmed on Monday that Travalyst has been nominated at the Skift IDEA Awards 2026 in the Travel Technology and Sustainability Tech category.
In a statement following the news, the company said: “We’re excited to announce that we’ve been shortlisted as a finalist in the Skift IDEA Awards 2026! Over 490 entries were submitted from around the world this year.”
Prince Harry’s involvement in Travalyst has often been the subject of criticism, with both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex being accused of being “hypocrites” over their frequent use of private jets.

In March 1988, the then Prince Charles was on a skiing holiday at Klosters in Switzerland with Diana, Princess of Wales, Sarah Ferguson and a number of close friends. On March 10, Charles and other members of the group, including Major Hugh Lindsay, were skiing off-piste when an avalanche hit and claimed the life of Major Lindsay, while also injuring others.
“[The King] spoke of the near miss he had in that avalanche in the context of the dangers mountains contain,” team leader Ben Dyson told The Times after the meeting.
“He said ‘it was a close thing’, Mr Dyson added. “Obviously, after all these years, it is still much in his memory, but it has given him an insight into the valuable work we do and the dangers we face.”

This has seen her start up podcast series, TV shows, take part in interviews, and even launch her own lifestyle brand As Ever. King Charles loses another key staff member of 40 years in less than a month
One of King Charles’s most loyal members of staff has left his role after more than 40 years of service to the Royal Family. Throughout his impressive four-decade career, Bernie Flannery had a front-row seat to various royal marriages and divorces, as well as landmark events such as the death of Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles’s accession.
Award-winning royal author Robert Jobson shared the news of Mr Flannery’s departure. He wrote: “Bernie Flannery leaves the King’s personal staff this weekend. The loyal butler is the latest of His Majesty’s team to leave his side, after more than forty years at his beck and call.” Mr Jobson paid warm tribute to the departing butler, describing him as “the most loyal of the loyal”, before wishing him a peaceful retirement.
Mr Flannery’s departure comes just weeks after the news that King Charles’s long-serving private secretary, Sir Clive Alderton, will also retire next year to coincide with his 60th birthday next May.

Prince Harry made a number of claims about his father, King Charles, in his memoir Spare. But now, a royal insider has disputed some of them, leaving fans of the monarchy puzzled about the truth. Prince Edward’s ex-girlfriend, Ruthie Henshall, dated Queen Elizabeth’s youngest child for around five years.
In her new book, The Showgirl And The Prince, she has revealed what King Charles’ parenting style is really like. Ruthie spent much time at Balmoral with senior members of the Royal Family and saw King Charles with his sons first-hand, reports the Daily Mail.
She says: “I watched Charles playing rough and tumble with William and Harry (then aged ten and eight) in the Balmoral corridors.
“He clearly loved those boys, and they were squealing with joy as Daddy chased them.”

Princess Eugenie could be poised to hand her mother, Sarah Ferguson, an olive branch any day now, following the birth of her third child last week. The Princess welcomed her first daughter at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, last week and has yet to reveal her name.
With the announcement yet to be made, it seems Eugenie could be about to give a hint about her relationship with her mother, who has remained out of sight ever since her emails to sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein, were released last year by the US Department of Justice in the Epstein Files.
Ever since the birth of her first son, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, in 2021, Eugenie has continued her mother’s tradition of naming her children after Queen Victoria’s relatives.
Princess Beatrice was the name of the Queen’s youngest daughter with Prince Albert, and all three of Eugenie’s names (Eugenie Victoria Helena) follow the same trend.

While Britain basked in 28C heat, the Duchess of Edinburgh took to the slopes in an indoor snow centre with temperatures as low as -6C. Wrapped up in a bright blue puffer jacket, warm white tracksuit bottoms and thick ski gloves, Sophie showed off her ski skills by speeding down the snow in the ultimate heatwave hack.
The 61-year-old visited the Snow Centre Hemel Hempstead to mark being named royal patron of the Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team (AFPST) and she watched athletes being put through their paces and met those behind the scenes, including coaches, volunteers and board members. While temperatures outside reached highs of 25C in the Hertfordshire town on Monday as the UK braces for its fifth heatwave of the year, inside the centre, the mercury plunged to a chilly -6C to preserve the quality of the snow for skiing and snowboarding.
As well as confidently taking to the slopes at the UK’s largest lesson slope that uses real snow, the Duchess tried some target practice with a laser rifle.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, despite being stripped of the use of his royal titles last year, is reportedly still set to receive a royal ceremonial funeral when the time comes. The former prince, who is the brother of King Charles, was downgraded to the same status as regular people last year when his titles were taken from him following scandals surrounding his previous friendship with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
While Andrew has always denied wrongdoing and accusations against him in the scandals surrounding Epstein, he still suffered the ultimate royal downfall. This is because, in addition to losing his royal titles, he also lost his Royal Lodge home in Windsor. The former duke, 66, now lives on a farmhouse on King Charles’ private Sandringham Estate.
Despite these changes to his royal status, it has emerged that Andrew is reportedly still set for a royal ceremonial funeral.

Princess Catherine took over the title of Princess of Wales in 2022, but it has been claimed that she “privately” expressed reservations about taking on the title due to its strong association with Princess Diana. Catherine inherited the title in 2022 following the death of Queen Elizabeth, when her husband, Prince William, took on the title of Prince of Wales.
At the time, Catherine “privately” voiced her reservations to her father-in-law, King Charles, about taking on the royal title, given its deep association with her husband’s late mother, according to the bombshell biography, William and Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story, by the Mirror’s royal editor Russell Myers.
The King had held discussions with William about the change of title in the years preceding his accession, yet Myers claims that Princess Catherine had been keen to carve out her own identity within the Royal Family, separate from Diana’s enduring legacy.

A palace insider has revealed a major security measure that had to be taken before Princess Anne appeared in court. Ailsa Anderson served as Press Secretary to Queen Elizabeth II and has spoken to The Sun’s Royal Exclusive host Matt Wilkinson and royal journalist Phil Dampier about the precautions that were taken for the case.
Princess Anne pleaded guilty to an offence involving one of her dogs. Royal officials had to prepare for the outcome, no matter what it would be. Ailsa said that she had been present at Slough Magistrates’ Court in 2002, where the Princess Royal faced the charge after her English bull terrier, known as Dotty, attacked two children. The former royal staff member said: “I was there in Slough Magistrates’ Court. She lost control of her dogs. She pleaded guilty.”
Alisa said: “Yeah. Again, we had to recce the courts beforehand and look at the jails downstairs just in case they pushed her down.”

Lady Louise’s younger brother ‘gets a job at Sandringham Estate’ – it’s pretty impressive
Lady Louise Windsor’s younger brother has got a job at his uncle King Charles’ Sandringham Estate this summer, it has been reported. James, Earl of Wessex, has been spotted over the last few weeks driving tractors around the estate.
It is believed the 18-year-old is helping with farmwork at Sandringham while he has no education to complete over the summer. It is not known what he is getting paid for his summer job. James, Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie’s son, is currently waiting for his A-level results.
An estate worker told The Sun about James’ new job. They said: “Everyone is so used to only seeing James smartly turned out with his family at functions at Christmas and Easter so I had to do a double take.
“He might be the King’s nephew, but he is more than happy to get his hands dirty and muck in.
“Driving tractors around Sandringham is not an easy task and it can mean long hours.
“But it doesn’t matter how rich you are, learning a good work ethic at a young age can always help. The King is known for his fondness of the countryside and he couldn’t be prouder knowing the younger royals share his love.”
