Meghan Markle is her own worst enemy, an insider has claimed, after letting fear and guardedness block her path to Hollywood success. The Duchess of Sussex has failed to forge genuine connections with audiences through her carefully controlled on-screen image, according to the source. Speaking to Closer, the insider said: “Meghan is too guarded and too self-controlled to succeed in the podcasting world, and she’s afraid to go on other people’s shows where she’ll get asked tough questions in a long-form setting.”
Although she has given multiple interviews and podcast appearances since quitting royal duties, fans have been left missing any authentic version of herself, the source suggested. They added: “Unfortunately, that’s really the only effective avenue to grow a show, and Meghan isn’t willing to go to those lengths.” After her troubled return to America and efforts to build a media empire, the same insider concluded she remains “her own worst enemy”, too wary of daily backlash and the ammunition any vulnerability would hand her critics.
King Charles’s nephew will find out his A-Level results on Thursday, along with hundreds of thousands of students across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, who are due to find out their exam results.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s latest project was dubbed “box office poison” after its debut flop.
Cookie Queens was released in the US last Friday and earned less than £250,000.
That means roughly £540 per showing across 446 cinemas. Harry and Meghan’s film was even overtaken by a compilation about the “world’s best cat videos”, CatVideoFest 2026. A source told The Times that the statistics showed a “pitiful return”.
But the film also failed to impress viewers, with Variety saying it was “too much of a reality-show ramble”.
Now a royal commentator has further blasted the film.

Prince Harry may want a public reunion with his father, King Charles, next year, but there is one risk that could blow the chances apart, a royal commentator has claimed.
The Duke of Sussex’s relationship with the Royal Family has been left in tatters following his sensational exit from the Firm six years ago, but recently, there have been sparks of hope regarding a possible reconciliation in the future. Harry returned to the UK for five days in July to attend various events linked to his patronages, including the one-year-to-go countdown for the Invictus Games in Birmingham.
A report by the Mirror claims that the Invictus Games organisers plan to invite the King to take part in “either the opening or closing ceremony as well as visiting a range of sporting events to meet competitors”.

Meghan Markle had an awkward encounter with a Hollywood star last week, and now insiders have set the record straight on what actually happened.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a rare joint appearance last Friday when they attended the David Foster Foundation 40th Anniversary Celebration in Canada.

The former Price was arrested in February of this year and taken to a police station in Aylsham on his 66th birthday on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
The disgraced son of Queen Elizabeth II was also ordered to leave his home at Royal Lodge and was stripped of his royal titles.

A royal commentator has dismissed speculation that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor will be afforded an elaborate royal funeral. Claims surfaced on Sunday suggesting the former Duke of York would be granted a ceremonial farewell upon his death, despite his dramatic downfall.
A report in the Mail on Sunday indicated Andrew remains on a confidential list of royals entitled to high-profile funerals as part of the UK Government’s ‘bridge’ plans, which establish funeral arrangements for the royals well in advance.
It has been proposed that Andrew, who has been relegated to the outer reaches of the Sandringham Estate, would be accorded a comparable tribute to Princess Margaret in 2002. On that occasion, flags were lowered to half mast at all royal residences and a six-day mourning period was observed.

Meghan Markle “will come back” to the UK next year despite the public’s perception of her, a royal expert has claimed. The Duchess of Sussex’s popularity remains low; however, her return to Prince Harry’s home country next year has been at the centre of discussions among royal watchers.
Harry will come back to Britain to attend the Invictus Games in Birmingham in July, just weeks before the 30th anniversary of the death of his mother, Princess Diana. Meghan was due to attend some events during Harry’s recent trip to the UK in July; however, her schedule had to be tweaked due to security concerns. Now, a royal expert has claimed that despite the backlash the duchess has received, she will end up visiting the UK next year.

Prince Harry’s claim that his father was “not quite ready for parenthood” and not affectionate has been disproved in a new book by Prince Edward’s ex. Ruthie Henshall, who dated Prince Edward for five years before he met Duchess Sophie, has shared some of her fond memories of the Royal Family in her book The Showgirl And The Prince.

Meghan Markle will no doubt be feeling happy this week after her beloved rescue dog has been given recognition on social media. The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry adopted their rescue beagle Mamma Mia in 2022 with the help of The Beagle Freedom Project (BFP).
It is believed the royal couple fell in love with her and wanted to rescue her when they found out the Envigo breeding facility, where Mamma Mia was kept, was being closed down. With the help of the BFP, the couple rescued the dog and brought her into their Montecito home. Mamma Mia’s story has now been shared on social media by BFP.

Harry and Meghan’s latest venture has bombed as a film they were heavily involved in flopped at the box office over the weekend. The California-based couple had executive-produced the documentary film Cookie Queens, which opened in close to 500 cinemas across the US after having its world debut in January at the Sundance Film Festival. The film follows a group of Girl Scouts as they attempt to become the top cookie seller, and has been described as a feel-good flick by some reviewers.
However, it didn’t pull in the box office numbers and didn’t manage to make it into the weekend’s top ten releases. In fact, it was beaten by Will Braden’s CatVideoFest 2026, which is a compilation of the best cat videos submitted by fans. Distribution rights were acquired by Roadside Attractions, while Harry and Meghan were executive producers through their company, Archewell Productions.

Zara Tindall stepped out abroad last night to attend the opening ceremony of the 2026 FEI World Championships in Aachen, Germany. The Princess Royal’s daughter, who is not a working royal herself, was all smiles as she was seen in a carriage at the opening ceremony of the global equestrian event at Allianz Park.
Zara, who wore all black for the event, then took to the stands to watch the rest of the opening ceremony, which marks the start of the FEI World Championships. The championships are a global equestrian event where world titles are contested in dressage, eventing, driving, para-dressage, show jumping, and vaulting. The King’s niece was not the only royal present on Tuesday, with Queen Mary of Denmark also stepping out at the opening ceremony.

Meghan Markle has spent six years trying to prove she doesn’t need the Royal Family to remain relevant. Yet somehow, she keeps finding herself orbiting the very institution she walked away from. This week offered another rather awkward example.

Sydnie Christmas performed Tomorrow from Annie and Frank Sinatra’s My Way in front of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at David Foster’s charity gala in Canada over the weekend. The 31-year-old, who won Britain’s Got Talent in 2024, shared the Duke of Sussex’s reaction to his performance as he made a surprising comment.
The ITV star revealed Harry immediately broke royal protocol when she left the stage as he leaned in for a hug and offered some kind words to the singer. Both tracks have poignant lyrics about overcoming difficulties and being beaten down, which clearly touched the royal.
Speaking from Canada, Sydnie told The Sun: “When I was on stage, I joked about meeting his dad before adding, ‘Sorry he couldn’t make it. He sent me instead’.” She admitted her comment tickled the prince who couldn’t stop laughing.
“When I got down off stage he just came forward and gave me a big cuddle.”
Balmoral Castle has announced it is now closed to the public for the rest of the summer ahead of the Royal Family’s summer holiday. The castle, which is visited by thousands of people every year, is famously known for being the place where the royals retreat to for their annual summer holiday.
Hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla, members of the family gather and stay at the castle together, enjoying quality family time. This tends to include hikes, bike rides, barbecues and picnics. Among the royals who usually go there for the summer are Prince William, Princess Catherine, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Prince Harry has got royal fans talking after he ‘appeared’ on a US game show. While the Duke of Sussex didn’t appear in person, his name cropped up on an episode of Family Feud.
This is a popular US television game show where two teams, often made up of family members, compete to guess the most common responses to public survey questions. One question was what five things do women love most about Prince Harry. The contestants had to successfully answer and ended up getting all five of the top things. These were his face/smile, his money, his red hair, his royalty/power and his accent.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been urged by Brits to publicly apologise to King Charles for their actions over the past few years. It was reported last week that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who quit royal life in 2020, are considering issuing a public apology to Harry’s father for all the public criticisms of the Firm they have made over the last few years.
This comes after they reunited with the monarch at Highgrove House last month. A source told royal journalist Rob Shuter, writer of his Naughty But Nice Substack: “Everyone agrees trust has to be rebuilt. An apology doesn’t have to be a surrender. It’s an acknowledgement that this family feud went too far. Charles wants peace – but he also wants respect.”
