Hayden Panettiere’s preliminary autopsy results have revealed a bombshell detail about her cause of d3ath. On Sunday night (August 16), the 36-year-old actress sadly d!ed, with the heartbreaking news confirmed by her father, Alan Panettiere, in an emotional statement. Now, Fox News Digital has confirmed that the TV star was found in cardiac arrest prior to her d3ath in a new statement.
The Greenville County Coroner’s Office said in a statement that their findings discovered no signs of trauma that contributed to her d3ath. It read: “First responders and Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene and located a female in cardiac arrest.

“EMS personnel initiated advanced cardiac life support measures; however, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and the individual was pronounced deceased at 2:32PM.” Shortly after her d3ath, the Greenville County Coroner’s Office and the Greenville City Police Department launched parallel investigations into her passing.
The statement continued: “At autopsy, no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the d3ath.” They added that her cause and manner of d3ath “remain pending further investigation” and the completion of additional studies.
“This investigation remains active and ongoing. No further details are available for release at this time,” the coroner’s office added. Panettiere’s father asked for privacy “as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss.”

He said in a statement on Sunday night: “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her – and to the millions who watched her on screen.”

Beginning as a child star, with a lustrous career in both film and TV, Panettiere is remembered for her roles as Claire Bennet on the hit TV show Heroes and as Juliette Barnes on the musical drama, Nashville. She also starred in Remember the Titans, Raising Helen, Ice Princess and Scream 4.
The actress recently reprised her role as Kirby Reed in Scream 6 back in 2023. Panettiere had been candid about her struggles from child stardom through to adulthood, with the mum-of-one later releasing a memoir back in May titled This Is Me: A Reckoning.
In the memoir, she shared “a rare and intimate glimpse into her life behind closed doors, opening up about postpartum depression, addiction and recovery, trauma, domestic abuse, and loss,” according to a synopsis of her book. Panettiere is the mother of her daughter, Kaya Klitschko, whom she had with her ex-fiancé, heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.
In an interview with Good Morning America in 2022, the actress opened up about grappling with alcoholism and postpartum depression. She said: “I didn’t know where the alcoholism was ending, and the postpartum was beginning, and I ran myself pretty ragged.”

Her d3ath comes three years after her brother, Jansen Panettiere, who d!ed suddenly at the age of 28 back in February 2023 from cardiomegaly, an enlarged heart, coupled with aortic valve complications, his family said in a statement at the time.
Hayden spoke openly about her grief, saying in an interview with People two years after his d3ath: “I will always be heartbroken about it. I will never be able to get over it. No matter how many years go by, I will never get over his loss.”
