A Place In The Sun presenter Laura Hamilton has issued a warning to fans following the tragic death of a young man she witnessed while filming this week. The 44-year-old explained she had decided to take a walk along the beach once filming had concluded for the day, only to encounter “a lot of commotion”.
She then described seeing paramedics attempting to resuscitate someone, who she has since discovered was a 19-year-old boy. Despite the medical team’s best efforts to save him, the young man tragically died.

Posting on Instagram on Friday morning, Laura revealed she had hardly slept due to her “mind racing” as she relived what she had witnessed.
“I can’t begin to imagine what that poor boy’s family are thinking and feeling this morning,” she added. The property expert proceeded to warn holidaymakers about the potential dangers of the sea.

“Obviously lots of people are going on their summer holidays right now, so you know, just be really mindful when you’re in the sea of currents, if you’re letting your children go into the sea, even as a grown up going into the sea, just be careful,” she cautioned.

“But it was a kind of crazy thing to sort of see and witness and it just reminds us all that life is short.”
Laura went on to say the tragedy was a stark reminder that “life is short”, as she urged people to treasure their loved ones because “nobody knows what tomorrow holds”.
Many of Laura’s followers offered their support in the comments section and expressed their condolences for the boy’s family. One remarked: “How sad and awful to witness, thoughts are with his family. You’re right hold those we love close.”

A second commented: “Very tragic and sad for the family,” while a third posted: “That’s awful Laura, my heart goes out to the family.
“100% You never know what’s round the corner and these kinds of things reminds us all how precious life is. Take care,” a fourth responded.
Laura, who regularly travels for professional commitments, divides her time between the UK, Mallorca and Dubai.
She purchased a holiday property in Pollença Old Town, Mallorca, two years ago and has been updating followers on the renovation progress ever since.
Alongside sharing updates, Laura also provides guidance and recommendations on her YouTube channel for others contemplating purchasing a property abroad.
The Channel 4 star’s decision to buy abroad came after her A Place In The Sun colleague Jasmine Harman moved to Spain with her husband and their two children in 2023.
At the time, Jasmine said the relocation had provided the family with a “better balance” overall.
Laura’s post came a day after two people lost their lives in separate incidents after encountering difficulties in the water near Mersea Island in Essex. Shelina Rhaman, 41, and her 15 year old daughter Samiha were killed while attempting to assist a seven year old cousin.
