Meghan Markle could be set to face a devastating setback as she reportedly eyes up a return to the UK with Prince Harry. The Sussexes had a meeting with King Charles and Queen Camilla earlier in the month, and reports have now claimed the couple may want to return to the UK permanently. However, it appears it might not be as straightforward for Meghan, 44, as The Nerve host Maureen Callahan believes there is a path back into the Royal Family for Harry, but not for his wife.
“The reporting out of King Charles’ office has always been, there could be a way back for Harry. But it would be without Meghan,” she told Sky News Australia host Danica De Giorgio. “I find it really hard to believe that Meghan would consider living in the UK, even part time. She is so loathed there, and she knows it.”

She said the couple’s approval ratings are “in the toilet” and contrasted them with the overwhelming popularity of Prince William and Princess Catherine in the UK, adding that William wants nothing to do with his brother.
Maureen continued: “Harry cannot be happy. He lives in Montecito away from the urban hub of Los Angeles, he doesn’t really have a job, he doesn’t really have an infrastructure of a social life and friends.
“Every Hollywood heavyweight who has attempted to help the Sussexes has thoroughly been put off by them. They are in a lonely place of their own making.”

Danica agreed, claiming that Meghan is “absolutely despised” in the UK.
She said: “They have done it to themselves. They have chosen this lifestyle, it’s clearly not working for them and now they think they can weasel their way back.
“I think that Britain hates Meghan. She is absolutely despised and I think to an extent, Harry but not so much because he was always the jovial prince prior to being tied down by Meghan.
“But they’re desperate. But they’ve done it to themselves, so they only have themselves to blame.”
Maureen slammed the Sussexes for how they have acted over the past few years, declaring: “You cannot plead privacy when you publish a bestselling memoir in which you divulge all manner of your family’s intimate secrets.
“The gloves are off when you sit for a Netflix documentary in which you depict yourself as the most hounded couple of the modern age, and in which Meghan mocked the late Queen with that courtesy and compared the British Royal Family to the American theme park franchise known as Medieval Times.”
She added: “Karma is coming around for both of them.”
