SO SAD: Beverley Callard Shares Emotional Health Update Following C@ncer Diagnosis

Coronation Street favourite Beverly Callard has shared an emotional update with fans, admitting she still does not feel like herself as she continues recovering following treatment for breast cancer.

The 69-year-old actress, best known for playing Liz McDonald on the ITV soap, has kept followers informed about her health since revealing her diagnosis in February.

In her latest social media update, Beverly explained that although she had managed a “good week at work”, her busy schedule had finally caught up with her.

She is now preparing for further tests and scans, as well as an endoscopy that will require sedation.

The strain has also forced her to miss an important celebration involving someone very close to her.

“I should have been going to a really mega Irish wedding tonight of someone who’s very dear to me, and I’m not up to it,” she told followers.

For Beverly, cancelling the plans was another reminder that despite returning to work, her recovery is far from straightforward.

‘I’m Not Up to Partying Yet’

The actress admitted that she simply does not yet have the energy to return fully to normal life.

“I’m not up to partying yet at all,” she said.

However, she remained hopeful that things would improve.

“I will be, I’m sure, but not just yet. So, time will tell. I’m trying my best.”

Her latest update comes after Beverly previously told fans she had experienced several difficult days following radiotherapy.

She explained that her recovery has become unpredictable, with occasional better days often followed by much tougher ones.

“Yesterday was a good day. I went to work, not for too long, but it was great,” she said.

Although she experienced some nausea, Beverly initially felt she had coped reasonably well.

But by the following day, her symptoms had worsened.

“Today I just feel so sick all the time,” she admitted.

She described the pattern since radiotherapy as “one good day and then three bad”, leaving her having to constantly adjust her plans depending on how she feels.

Beverly Makes Emotional Admission

Alongside her video update, Beverly revealed just how much the experience has affected her emotionally as well as physically.

“A bit of a chat about how I feel and what’s next… just don’t feel myself at all,” she wrote.

Yet even during one of the more difficult stages of her recovery, she remained determined.

“But I WILL get there,” she added.

Fans immediately rallied around the actress, praising her strength and urging her to give herself time to recover.

One follower said they were amazed Beverly was managing to continue working despite such a demanding period, praising her courage and resilience.

Another described her as an inspiration and said they hoped she would soon be back to her familiar “bubbly self”.

Others encouraged the actress to listen to her body and not feel guilty when she needs to rest.

One supporter specifically warned that fatigue following treatment can be overwhelming and told Beverly not to put pressure on herself if she does not feel capable of attending events or maintaining her usual routine.

Beverly’s next steps now include further medical checks as doctors continue monitoring her health.

Although she has managed to return to work for short periods, the actress has made clear that nausea, fatigue and the lingering effects of treatment remain a daily challenge.

Missing the wedding of someone close to her was clearly disappointing, but Beverly’s message remained hopeful.

She knows she is not yet ready to return completely to the life she had before treatment, but she is refusing to lose faith that things will improve.

For now, the much-loved Corrie star is taking each day as it comes, working when she feels able and resting when her body tells her to slow down.

And despite admitting she does not yet feel like herself, Beverly remains certain of one thing — she believes she will get there.
