Taylor Swift appeared to be “physically exhausted” as she accepted her award at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards, according to one body language expert.
During the annual music award show, the pop star was delivered the incredible honor of winning the Tour of the Century Award for her record-breaking Eras Tour. And while the 35-year-old singer skipped out on attending the ceremony for the second year in a row, she did pop in with a pre-recorded acceptance speech thanking her fans.
After analyzing the footage of Taylor, one expert weighed in with their expert opinion on what the deeper meaning behind her body language could be. In an interview with Online Casinos Canada, celebrity body language expert Inbaal Honigman noted: “Swift’s breathing is deeper and heavier than it usually is in other acceptance speeches.”
She continued: “It tells us that her emotions are heightened. There might even be physical exhaustion. This deeper breathing lets us know that Taylor is struggling to find her balance, as things are changing and shifting around her, she hasn’t been relaxing. She holds her hands mostly in front of her stomach as if protecting the area.”
Taylor Swift won Tour of the Century Award for her Eras Tour
This comes as Taylor wrapped up her world-wide Era’s Tour in December of 2024 included 149 concerts across 51 cities in 21 countries. The global tour consisted of a three-hour-long performances including hit songs from all of her albums including Lover, Fearless, Red, 1989, Speak Now, Reputation, Folklore, Evermore, Midnights, and The Tortured Poets Department.
In her video message, Taylor expressed her gratitude for her hardworking crew members and dedicated fans that showed up all over the world to support her.
In part, she said: “I really can’t tell you how much this means to me, because I accept this on behalf of all my tour-mates. This tour was the most challenging thing that I’ve ever done in my life. It really was the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done.”
In a newly posted Reddit thread, some fans also sensed that something was off in her acceptance speech.
One user wrote: “Maybe unpopular opinion, but she looks sad. Like something is off. It’s giving Midnights era.”
Another concerned fan added: “I totally agree. She’s either sick or something is really off.”
While someone else observed: “Her voice sounds a bit hoarse and maybe also kinda sad?”
