Stacey Solomon has denied she has “quietly quit Loose Women after 13 years on the show, as was initially reported by Daily Mail after she had yet to appear on the programme at all this year. The presenter, 35, last appeared on the ITV series in December 2024 for the show’s 25-hour Talkathon, which was held to raise awareness of the network’s Britain Get Talking campaign, and her last panellist slot was on June 3, 2024.

However, eight months after returning as a guest, it was claimed that DIY star Stacey has been “too busy” with her other television work to come on and appears to have completely cut ties, however her rep has shared she remains a “proud” panellist.

Back in May it was revealed that ITV was slashing the budgets of its biggest daytime shows, including Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, Loose Women and This Morning. They were also halving the number of jobs and significantly reducing the time some of them were on air.

The cuts at ITV Studios, which make all four shows, resulted in more than 220 staff losing their jobs. The biggest impact was on long-running chat show, Lorraine, which was cut from an hour to 30 minutes in length and now airs for just 30 weeks a year rather than 52. Loose Women has remained the same running time, but has been cut to 30 weeks.

It has been claimed that the Loose Women team made multiple attempts to book Stacey last year because “they value having her on the show”, but reportedly, they were given multiple “no’s”. Instead, they have worked closer with stars that appeal to a younger audience, like Love Island alum, Olivia Attwood, 34, and TikToker GK Barry, 26.

The mother-of-five has been placing her energy into her BAFTA-nominated BBC show Sort Your Life Out and reality series Stacey and Joe, which gave viewers an insight into her family life at Essex home Pickle Cottage.

The former X Factor star decided against fronting a second season of Renovation Rescue on Channel 4 last year in a bid to concentrate on her BBC projects. The show saw Stacey come to the rescue of homeowners who’d been left high and dry by their builders and help them salvage their half-built homes.

Explaining her departure, a source told The Sun: “Stacey had a great time making Renovation Rescue but the fact she isn’t doing a second series allows her to focus on her projects with the Beeb.”
