Coronation Street airs a rare mention of Aggie Bailey in tonight’s episode as Dee-Dee’s big storyline continues.
As Dee-Dee continues to fight for justice following her traumatic birth experience, she reveals that she’s been in touch with her mum over what happened.
The show’s latest episode sees Dee-Dee attend a meeting with the hospital to discuss the poor treatment she received when she was in labour and how this led to avoidable complications on the day.
Dee-Dee is determined that no other woman should have to go through what she did, so she’s relieved when she hears that an investigation has been launched.

As Dee-Dee leaves, she spots her neighbour Asha Alahan is chatting to Zoe, the midwife whose job is now at risk.
Asha, who works as a paramedic, sympathises with Zoe and later visits Dee-Dee and asks her to consider the pressure that NHS staff are under.
Dee-Dee replies: “I get that. You know my mum’s a nurse. And honestly, she doesn’t quite understand why I’m making this complaint either.”
Standing up for what’s right, Dee-Dee reminds Asha that her poor treatment was linked to her ethnicity and the hospital team needs to do much better in future.

She says: “I trusted that team. I begged [Zoe] for help and she ignored me and she knew best while I was bleeding out. So maybe this way she will think twice when a woman, especially a Black woman, asks her for help.
“Asha, to be silent is to be complicit. I can’t do that and neither should you.”
Aggie left the Street in 2023 when she headed off to take care of a sick relative in Birmingham. Months later, it was revealed that she’d dumped her husband Ed off screen and wouldn’t be coming back, after hearing about Ed’s return to gambling.
Late last year, Lorna Laidlaw – who played Aggie – reflected on her time on Corrie and how she intervened behind the scenes to make the Bailey family’s portrayal more “truthful”.
