Al Roker and his family are celebrating a milestone
Al Roker is celebrating a sweet family milestone, taking to social media to announce it shortly after being praised as an “inspiration” by fans.

The Today Show co-host and meteorologist has been a fan favorite for decades, ever since joining the show in 1996. Fans have excitedly watched him during that time. Not only have they seen him remain a steady presence while his co-hosts change, but they have also seen his family grow.
And while he has faced tragedy within his family that kept him off the show in recent months, there are still some heartwarming moments he is sharing with his fans.
That now includes his family celebrating a big milestone when it comes to his son, Nick Roker.
Al Roker shared a series of throwback photos to celebrate his son’s 23rd birthday
Al and his wife, Deborah Roberts, are celebrating their son’s 23rd birthday, something he excitedly shared with fans in an Instagram post that featured several throwback images of Nick and his family.
“Happy birthday to this guy,” he captioned the video slideshow. “Hard to believe he is 23! Here’s a look at those 23 years. So very proud of the young man he has become. We love you, Nicholas!!”
Among the clips were ones of his son as a baby, through his kid and teen years, and at special events like vacations and graduations.
Roker shared adorable throwbacks of his son’s childhood
Al’s Today cohost Dylan Dreyer was quick to comment on the post and wrote, “Happy birthday big guy!!!” And one of Al’s followers posed, “Nick has that beautiful Roker smile. Birthday blessings Nick,” while another said, “As a fan and a viewer it has been amazing watching Nick grow up! Happy Birthday to that guy with the oh so handsome smile!”
Also featured in the images are Al and his wife, as well as Nick’s siblings. Al and Deborah are also parents to a daughter, Leila, 26. The TV host also has a daughter, Courtney, 38, whom he shares with his first wife, Alice Bell.
Nick is Roker’s youngest child
In July 2023, Al’s brood expanded even more when Courtney welcomed a daughter named Sky. Al becoming a grandfather came just months after he was hospitalized at the end of 2022 for blood clots in his legs that had traveled to his lungs.
Last year, he reference his granddaughter and his health struggled in an essay written for People. “I’m so grateful I’m here to be able to see my first grandchild. If there’s any reason to make sure you’re as healthy as possible, it’s that.”
“That little girl is just everything. I mean, I love my children, but my gosh, I didn’t know I would love another person this much.”
