A contestant on The Chase broke down in tears after an unlikely win, but viewers were left divided over her plans for the prize fund.
Monday’s instalment of the ITV quiz show hosted by Bradley Walsh, 64, saw four players, Ali, Fiona, Emma and Nick, attempt to take on Chaser Darragh Ennis, known as The Menace.
Emma, a university student from Nottingham, managed to secure £2,000 in the cash builder round and went for the lower £1,000 offer when it was her turn to face Darragh.
The 19-year-old was successful and brought £1,000 back to the team and took her place in the final chase.
She went on to play a huge role in securing the team’s prize fund and managed to answer several questions, bringing them to victory against Darragh.
Emma was visibly emotional after the win and cried as Bradley asked her what she would do with her share of the prize fund, which came to £4,500 each.
