‘Am I still alive?’ In a fleeting moment, Jeremy Clarkson panics and collapses in the field – sh0cking truth in Clarkson’s Farm 4
Jeremy Clarkson has revealed the heartbreaking truth behind his declining health as fans watch him ‘get more and more ill’ in the fourth series of Clarkson’s Farm.
The documentary series – which follows the former Top Gear presenter working in his Cotwolds farm – returned to our screens on Amazon Prime on Friday (May 23 2025).
Back in October last year Jeremy had to have a heart procedure, where he had two stents fitted during surgery and was told to change his diet by doctors after they discovered two vital arteries were blocked.
In the brand new series, fans will see first hand how it ends up affecting him and his work. He told The Sun: ‘You can see me becoming more and more ill as the days go on, because I just lose my sense of humour, lose my ability to stay calm.
‘I get in a proper old panic.
‘I didn’t know at the time. I knew I wasn’t being me.

‘Because if you don’t sleep, it very quickly has an effect.’
The star also opened up to the publication about what it was like before he was rushed to hospital late last year.
Jeremy told the publication: ‘I was trying to get the pub open for the August bank holiday weekend, and at the same time doing the harvest on the farm.
‘And it’s very well documented I ended up in hospital with a heart problem, when you see how stressful it was trying to do those two things – there’s simply no sleep.
‘I was coming back knackered from a day trying to get the pub open, and having to get straight into the tractor to do grain carting through the night.
‘You can’t make the harvest wait, if it’s dry, ready and fit, as they say in farming I’ve discovered, if the wheat and barley fit you’ve got to get out there.
‘God it was knackering.’
Earlier this month Jeremy shared the harrowing details of being ‘days from d3ath’ as he recalled the dive that went wrong where his lungs ‘filled with water’.

The TV presenter had two stents fitted during the surgery and was warned to change his diet by doctors after they discovered two vital arteries were blocked.
Jeremy was rushed to hospital when he began feeling symptoms of clamminess, chest tightness and pins and needles in his left arm.
Following the ‘sudden deterioration’ in his health, Jeremy was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where he was operated on.
Speaking to the Sunday Times about the first signs that something wasn’t quite right, he recalled holidaying in the Seychelles shortly before the episode.
He said: ‘I always try and dive off a boat on every holiday because at my age you never know when your last dive is going to be, or your last anything, for that matter.’
But he realised midway through his last dive, which turned into a belly flop, that his brain was writing cheques his body couldn’t cash.
He said: ‘When I finally reached the beach my lungs were full of water and I realised I can’t do it anymore.’
When he returned home to Chadlington, Oxfordshire, he began experiencing scary symptoms which resulted in his dash to hospital.

The show is directed by Gavin Whitehead.
