Ben Shephard and Piers Morgan: The Most Mysterious Disappearance in TV History – Do the ‘Foolish’ Explanations Convince the Audience?

Ben Shephard only left Good Morning Britain weeks ago and it seems the ITV show have already snubbed him from their upcoming 10-year anniversary celebrations.

GMB, who is marking the milestone celebration this year, have started to share a gallery of photos from the shows past on social media.

The GMB team wrote on Instagram: ’10 years have flown by! Let’s look back at some of our presenters through the years’.

The photos were of the presenters at work during the decade – with Susanna Reid coming first, followed by stars including Kate Garraway, Charlotte Hawkins, Richard Madeley and Ranvir Singh.

The collection also included Sean Fletcher, money expert Martin Lewis, weather forecaster Laura Tobin, Richard Arnold and Adil Ray.

The GMB team wrote on Instagram: ’10 years have flown by! Let’s look back at some of our presenters through the years’

However, fans quickly spotted that some notable faces were absent from the gallery of hosts.

Among them was Ben, who was an original presenter on the early morning show from when it first went on air, before he left to co-host This Morning with Cat Deeley earlier this year.

Also notably missing was Piers Morgan, who stormed out of GMB in 2021 and never returned to present the ITV show again.

He took to the comments to simply write: ‘Ermm…’ while his son Spencer joked: ‘Where’s the main one?’

Fans were left wondering why the long-time presenters were snub considering they were such fundamental parts of the series.

They wrote: ‘Where’s the pic of Ben Sheppard and Ed balls and Piers Morgan; What about @piersmorgan ? The best one you lot have had; No mention of @piersmorgan then.’

‘Absolute joke not showing @piersmorgan in this; @benshephardofficial????; I know you did not just leave Piers Morgan and Ben Shepherd out there were the reason I started watching that show in the first place’.

Earlier this month, Susanna appeared on This Morning alongside Ben and Cat to discuss the 10-year anniversary.

She revealed she has a newspaper framed in her dressing room with the story from their first day on air.

Speaking about the paper, which was they were forced to muzz the one side as it sat alongside a saucy snap on Page 3, Susanna said: ‘You can probably see we have censored the other photo on page 3.

‘Because for younger viewers, yes, they used to have a t0pless model on it.

‘But the reason that this, from 10 years ago, is framed in my dressing room, is because one of those two things got cancelled. And it wasn’t Good Morning Britain!’

Her reference was to the cancellation of Page Three – The Sun’s daily t0pless images of models, which was removed as a feature in 2015 amid backl@sh.

She went on: ”Page 3 no longer has a t0pless model on it’. Ben then quipped: ‘I remember this happening and thinking yes we made it! We’re on Page 3!’

When GMB began, Susanna, Ben and Charlotte all presented four days a week, with Sean presenting every day. When Susanna was absent, Charlotte took her place and was in turn, substituted by Kate Garraway or Ranvir Singh.

In 2021, after Meghan’s claims that she was left su1c1dal by the attention of the British press Piers claimed he ‘didn’t believe a word’ from her statements.

Piers dramatically departed GMB three years ago in the face of controversy over his opinions about Meghan Markle (seen st0rming off show at the time)

He was then targeted by weather presenter Alex Beresford, who called him out for ‘continuing to tr@sh’ the Meghan – leading to Piers st0rming off set before his permanent exit was announced shortly after.

Piers sparked further controversy earlier in his stint as a presenter, having caused accusations of r@cism and sparking over 1,500 Ofcom complaints in January 2020.

He made comments relating to a Chinese dairy advert, in which he said: ‘He’s using ch1ng chang chong milk’ and also spoke over the advert saying, ‘ch1ng chang cho jo’.

He was accused by some viewers as using r@cist language which is used to antagonise Chinese people, and for mocking the Chinese language.
