How did he get started in journalism?
A native New Yorker, Kilmeade graduated from LIU Post with a bachelor’s degree in 1986.
Before the news, he covered sports, taking a role with KHSL-TV, a CBS affiliate, in California.
Eventually, Kilmeade moved back to the East Coast, joining NBC as a freelance sports anchor.
Kilmeade’s big opportunity with Fox News came when he was asked to fill in on Fox News Radio in April 2006.
He has been with the network since.

In April 2021, Kilmeade went after Hunter Bid3n on-air, saying he deliberately lied about his contested laptop.
Kilmeade further called Bid3n’s claims “unbelievable.”
