‘He’s Not Handsome, But It’s The Mind That’s The Most Attractive! – Prue Leith and husband John Playfair leave This Morning audience stunned with a Fairytale-Like love story in real life.
Prue Leith‘s husband made a cheeky joke live on This Morning as the couple revealed how they met.
The Great British Bake Off star, 85, and her husband John Playfair, 77, sat down with hosts Alison Hammond, 50, and Dermot O’Leary, 51, on the ITV show.
Alison asked the couple, who wed in 2016, how they met and John was quick to make the quip, ‘Geriatric Tinder‘.
The presenters laughed while Prue interjected: ‘That’s the sort of thing he does all the time and people sometimes take him seriously.’
She then went on to reveal how they really met and explained it was at a friends house.
‘I wasn’t concentrating because I needed to leave and John was chattering away and I didn’t concentrate and all,’ Prue admitted.

The next day, John turned up outside Prue’s house on a ‘Harley Davidson trike’ and Prue recalled, ‘I said, “You’re the guy I met last night.”‘
‘So then we went for a walk around the field and then we came back into my house and he told me all about Alexander the Great…,’ the chef added.
She joked: ‘But do you know what, it’s what’s in peoples heads that’s the most s3xy thing which is just as good because he’s not very good looking.’
The couple previously shared the details of the start of their relationship in a sweet moment on an episode of Loose Women last year.
The Bake Off star, who was married to her first husband nearly 30 years before his death in 2002, revealed she bolted from their first meeting at a dinner party.
Prue told how she was invited to a dinner party at a friend’s house, but when she got there were two men and two women there, leaving her feeling like a gooseberry.
The TV personality said she made her excuses to leave her friend’s dinner as quickly as she could and didn’t anticipate what would happen next.
Prue revealed that the following day, John, 77, turned up on her doorstep as he admitted he instantly ‘knew she was the one’.

John sweetly added: ‘I new she was the one straight away’, while Prue quipped:’ ‘I paid him to say that.’
Prue also said that her husband is the inspiration for some of her eye-catching outfits.
She said: ‘Colour is influenced by you, we’ve been together for 12 years. I ask for John’s advice and he always says no it’s not enough bigger earrings or more colour.
‘He [John] pushes me further. It’s great because most women who hit 50 thing they have to wear grey and I think you need colour.’
When asked about their Valentine’s Day plans, John coyly said he ‘couldn’t tell them about it’.
Prue started her career at the Cordon Bleu Cookery School in 1960 and went on to open her Michelin-starred restaurant Leith’s nine years later.
