Anchor Savannah, 53, was replaced by Saturday anchor Laura Jarrett, 41, for Tuesday’s edition of the programme, who hosted alongside Colin Jost, 42.
And it’s all because she’s soaking up the sun in Palm Beach, Florida, spending quality time with her husband, Michael Feldman, and their children Vale, 11, and Charlie, nine.
Taking to Instagram, Savannah shared some glimpses of her trip, posting sun-drenched snaps at the beach and pool at the four-star Colony Palm Beach Hotel.
In her caption, she wrote: “Turns out all they needed was more sunshine, more pink, more bingo, more pink, more warmth, more pink drinks, more time more together.”
But Savannah’s family getaway wasn’t the only reunion taking place.
She also caught up with her former Today co-host Hoda Kotb, who left the show in January.
Posing for a group selfie with Hoda and other pals, Savannah wrote: “Oh and a bonus @hodakotb sighting for a little extra [sunshine].”
The pair’s close friendship has been a fan favorite, and their time together in Palm Beach was met with excitement from followers.
One commented: “You guys look amazing,” while another gushed: “My two favorite co-anchor of @todayshow.”
Someone else said: “I miss @hodakotb so much right now.”
Today’s Craig Melvin replaced by beloved female host at desk with Savannah Guthrie but he calls in with his whereabouts
Hoda announced her departure from Today after six years of co-anchoring the show in September.
She said in a statement, “So I was doing the math, and I realized I have spent 26 years at NBC.
“I just turned 60, and it was such a monumental moment for me when I turned 60 years old… What does that decade mean?… And I realize it was time for me to turn the page at 60, and to try something new.”
Hoda continued, describing a moment when she celebrated her birthday with her children as “what the top of the wave feels like for me”.
She explained, “I thought, it can’t get better. And I decided that this is the right time to move on.”
Hoda noted the adoption of her children and said they “deserve a bigger piece of my time pie” but said the decision to leave was “the hardest thing in the world”.
On her final episode, Today anchors presented Hoda with a surprise video montage of her moments through the years.
