Carson Beck is on the move, and there’s a massive sum involved, according to a source.

The former Georgia quarterback initially declared for the NFL Draft but changed his mind and entered the transfer portal instead. He has since committed to Miami.

According to local Miami reporter Josh Moser, the QB will make $4 million in NIL money, more than twice what Cam Ward was paid in 2024.

“Was told that it’s a $4 million NIL package for Carson Beck – this is in line with the reported deal Tulane transfer QB Darian Mensah (2-year/$8M deal) signed with Duke,” Moser reported. “Different market this year, considering Cam Ward was reportedly paid $1.5 million last season. #CFBPlayoff”

Draft expert Todd McShay slammed Beck’s decision to declare for the draft, relaying a scout’s thoughts on the matter who thought it was “foolish.”

“He played great in certain moments,” McShay said. “I thought he played better late in the season… But he never this year played to the level that many of us expected him to play.”

The player ultimately decided to use his remaining eligibility, but it won’t be with the Bulldogs.

Carson Beck joined UGA as a backup in 2020 before being named a starter in 2023 and firing Georgia to a 12-1 record. He began 2024 brightly, with the Bulldogs finishing 11-2, but suffered a serious elbow injury in the SEC Championship Game against Texas.

The player’s decision to move to Miami is believed to have been influenced by the opportunity to play under Mario Cristobal. But fans think his girlfriend had a lot to do with it.

Beck is in a relationship with Miami basketball star Hanna Cavinder, and they will now be attending the same school.

His arrival in Miami is expected to see the program maintain its high standards after an impressive season with Ward under center.

The decision to remain in college could help Beck’s draft prospects immensely, as he gets another year to improve as a player in a conference where he will perhaps have an easier time standing out.
