FOX NEWS IN TURMOIL: Young star Lawrence Jones heavily criticized for on-air incident – Network issues Official Explanation!
Lawrence Jones III, a Fox News contributor, came under heavy criticism after appearing on Sean Hannity’s show Wednesday night wearing a t*ctical vest at the southern U.S.–Mexico border. Photos of Jones in the ill-fitting vest, with nothing inside its pouches, standing beside U.S. Border Protection agents, quickly sparked ridicule for “pretending to be in a wr zne.”

Jones later claimed agents forced him to wear it for safety. But many veteran reporters and ex-military pushed back. Jacob Soboroff of MSNBC firmly stated: “I have never once worn a bulletproof vest at the border, even while on a chase with Border Patrol in the Arizona desert at night. Because. The. Border. Is. Not. A. Wr. Zne.”
Journalist Roland Martin mocked Jones’ look: “Lawrence thinks he’s going to wr. Trying to boost your speaking fees? #AllAboutTheBenjamins”* Martin added: “You’re just there for show, not to understand reality. Go ahead, play TV, Lawrence.”
Faced with backlash, Jones spent hours Thursday morning defending himself on Twitter. Some voices suggested “playing dress-up” is a non-partisan flaw among cable journalists. But most critics blamed Jones for fueling Fox News’ constant narrative of border crisis: chaos, volnc*, and urgent need for security.
Last week, Jones was also criticized after telling Fox Business that Michelle Obama pulled “fav*rs” to get Jussie Smollett off charges — offering no evidence.
