Gethin Jones has shared a sweet birthday tribute to his co-star Helen Skelton amid their rumoured blossoming romance.

The daytime TV star, 47, is said to be dating the mother-of-three, who hosts the BBC‘s Morning Live alongside him.

While the pair have yet to confirm their romance, they’ve been spotted out and about together off-screen, including enjoying a luxury spa trip at a country club.

Now, Gethin has shared a cheek post about the presenter on social media as he marked her 42nd birthday on Saturday.

Taking to his Instagram Stories, the former Blue Peter host posted a snap of Helen surrounded by a flock of sheep.

Gethin wrote ‘Penblwydd Hapus’ which means Happy Birthday in Welsh, before joking: ‘Have the best time hanging out with your mates x,’ referring to the livestock.

He finished the birthday post with a kiss, further fueling speculation surrounding their relationship.

After appearing on-screen together, the pair’s friendship is believed to have blossomed into something more in recent months.

A source previously told MailOnline: ‘Helen and Gethin have an extremely close working relationship and there’s a feeling in recent months their friendship has blossomed into a deeper connection.

‘They’re both keen to keep a lid on it to avoid public scrutiny but there’s no denying their closeness both off and on-screen.’

Gethin and Helen first sparked rumours of a possible romance in March during a joint 24-hour roller-skating challenge for Comic Relief.

Gethin publicly praised Helen’s resilience and sense of humour while also gushing about how much he loved spending time with her.

Helen later reciprocated the admiration, writing on social media following the challenge: ‘My dear @gethinjonesc… You are some man.

‘I don’t publicly say often enough how much love and respect I have for you my friend because I assume it is well known, but for the record you’re a legend and I am beyond grateful to have you by my side on the rink, the sofa and beyond.’

Helen has been single since her high profile 2022 break-up from husband Richie Myler – the father of her three children, Ernie, nine, Louis, eight and Elsie, three.

The rugby league player, 34, was married to Helen for nine years before they split with the former Strictly star writing on Instagram that she was very ‘sad’ he had ‘left the family home’.

Gethin is also single and earlier this year, he told how he was banned from dating app Hinge after a whopping 300 women viewed his profile, as he was accused of being a catfish.

Recalling the incident during an appearance on the Restless Natives podcast, he said: ‘A couple of weeks ago I was kicked off Hinge twice in eight hours for violating the Code of Conduct. Three hundred women had reported me for catfishing.

‘It was that moment when you have to write to Hinge, on a Thursday night, all alone, “Dear Hinge, it’s Gethin here, 46, I just want to get my money back because it’s not really working for me”, eating some cereal because there’s nothing in the fridge.

‘That’s when I’m like, “What am I doing with my life?”‘

Gethin was previously engaged to Katherine Jenkins after the pair met in 2007.

In February 2011 they announced they were set to marry, though in December of the same year Gethin called off the engagement and split.
