In 2005, iconic Good Morning America host Robin Roberts met Amber Laign on a blind date they both tried to cancel twice. But that night, Robin’s gentle grace caught Amber’s heart – and they’ve been together for 18 years.
Through those years came Robin’s father’s d3ath, Hurricane Katrina, and Robin’s battle with breast cnc3r. Later, Amber faced her own fight: breast cnc3r in 2022.
In January 2023, Robin finally said out loud on TV:
“I’m saying ‘yes’ to marriage.”
Not a big proposal – just calamari rings slipped on each other’s fingers in a tiny Mexican spot, laughing: “Let’s go. Let’s do it.”
The wedding happened in September 2023, after 18 years, with their dog Lukas wearing a bow tie. And still, Robin says:
“We kind of like being around each other almost 24/7.”
