Michael Strahan, co-host of Good Morning America, shared heartbreaking news of the sudd3n and unexp3cted passing of Daisha Riley, the talented young producer aged 35. On Tuesday’s broadcast, Michael said: “It’s been a tough morning for all of us after learning about the d3ath of a young and talented producer on our show.”
Michael added: “You might not have known Daisha Riley’s name, but if you watched GMA over the past 14 years, trust us, you saw her amazing work. Daisha loved nothing more than telling America a story.” He continued: “Her legacy lives on in the powerful voice she shared through storytelling.”
She was known for writing br3aking news pieces at lightning speed, and Michael praised her ability to “make you cry with her exquisite words on special features.” He added: “And when Amy Robach interviewed the Game of Thrones cast, Daisha even made sure there was a real throne on set to amaze them.”
Robin Roberts, another GMA anchor, honored Daisha online: “Daisha Riley was a remarkable woman… talented, creative, kind, a beautiful soul in every way.”
Starting as a Production Associate in 2007, Daisha climbed the ranks to become a full producer by 2014, working on investigative segments, guest booking and logistics.
GMA aired a tribute video showing interviews, photos and memorable emails she shared with the team – a heartfelt farewell to a dedicated and gifted colleague.
