HIDING TEARS BEHIND HER SMILE, This Morning Presenter Alison Hammond Opens Up about her Mother’s D3ath and the Truth Behind being Replaced by Cat Deeley & Ben Shephard – A Story that left viewers Speechless.
Alison Hammond has broken her silence over the new permanent hosts of This Morning. Many viewers of the show had called for her to be made one of the main presenters, loving her good humour and personality.

However in an interview with the Sunday Times magazine Brummie Alison, 49, has said new This Morning co-stars Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard will ‘save’ the ITV Daytime show. And she added that she never actually wanted to be a permanent presenter of it.
She said: “I live in Birmingham and do Bake Off and For the Love of Dogs. I never wanted that job. Last year we did extra because we were going through issues, but Cat and Ben will save that show.” Alison is remaining as the Friday edition host alongside Dermot O’Leary.

Former Good Morning Britain Host Ben and So You Think You Can Dance star Cat will make their debut tomorrow. The pair are on £550,000 contracts and are the first permanent hosts of the show since Phillip Schofield departed under a cloud last year and Holly Willoughby followed months later.
Alison said of her former friend and co-star Schofield: “As for said ‘issues’… Listen. I don’t want to get into salacious gossip. All I need to say is I personally wish Phillip Schofield all the best. I loved Phillip Schofield. Full stop. But that’s the last thing I would want to speak about.”
Speaking about her exuberant presenting style she said: ““bring joy. But I take it seriously, because life is hard and you’ve just seen how people react to me. I make them forget their life. I bring joy, that’s my role. And if that can happen for somebody through my laugh, which even I find annoying, that’s fine by me.”
She also revealed a shocking incident in hospital where her mum had just di3d. Four years ago, one January morning her mother di3d at 5am after a long battle with cancer. Hammond stayed by her side for a couple of hours before they took the body to the morgue.
“On the way out,” Hammond said, “a woman asked me for a photo.” She pauses. “And I said, ‘Of course!’ That’s my job. People like that put me where I am today and I was looking at the phone screen, at our selfie, thinking, my mum just di3d. But it made that woman happy, so of course I took it. I’m not going to deny someone a photo just because I’m not in the mood. People off TV are not always this friendly, but it’s who I am. I’m hands on. I hug. We’re all on the same level.”
