TODAY’s Hoda Kotb has revealed her fury at a show guest before he broke down crying while laughing.
Comedian Kevin Hart was on deck for an interview with Hoda and Savannah Guthrie on Tuesday.

After Kevin, 44, talked about how his late mother continues to be his strong foundation, Savannah, 52, mentioned his “adorable family.”
“We have to ask you about your Christmas prank gone rotten,” the Today host said.
“What were you doing?” Hoda, 59, demanded.
“I was kinda mad at you.”
“I want to tell you I had nothing to do with this prank, I have two teenagers that do what they want,” Kevin explained.
His eldest teenagers dressed up as the Grinch and pranked his younger children.
When he saw his kids scared in the clip they rolled on the show, Kevin broke down laughing so hard that he started crying.
He couldn’t help himself as he reacted to the prank, saying he was crying “real tears” while watching it again.
The second time they rolled the video, Kevin broke into tears again and laughed his head off.
“I guess they learned some kind of life lesson, I don’t know what that is,” Hoda said, laughing at the prank.
HODA ON A MINUTE
Last week, Hoda was replaced by a fan-favorite host after a cryptic social media post.
Hoda, 59, was not on the morning show on Friday, after being in all week.
She typically sits next to Savannah Guthrie at the desk as the co-lead anchor.
However, on Friday’s show, Craig Melvin filled in for Hoda.
Craig, 44, typically joins the women at the desk about 30 minutes into the show.
That honor went to Sheinelle Jones today, who usually hosts Today Third Hour with Craig.
It is not clear when Hoda will return to Today.
Craig and Sheinelle, 45, typically fill in for Hoda or Savannah, 52, when they are out.
Despite being absent from Today, Hoda still posted to social media on Friday.
‘MAY YOU THRIVE’
When the clock struck 2024, Hoda reflected the previous year.
She posted a video of an ocean moving with the sun above it to her Instagram account.
An instrumental song played over the video.
“If 2023 has been a year of survival,” it was captioned, “may 2024 be your year of survival.”
“May you thrive in the process of getting where you’re meant to be.”
Hoda let the video speak for itself and did not add her own caption.
HEALTH SCARE
Hoda posting about “a year of survival” may refer to her daughter’s health issues last year.
She was absent from the morning show in February 2023 while taking care of her daughter.
The host returned in March and revealed more about what happened to her daughter, Hope.
“My youngest daughter Hope was in the ICU for a few days and in the hospital for a little more than a week and I’m so grateful she’s home,” Hoda told viewers.
“She is back home and I’ve been waiting for that day to come and we are watching her closely.”
“I realize when your child is ill, the amount of gratitude you can have for people for who helped you out…” she went on.
“I’m grateful for the doctors at Weill Cornell who are amazing and the nurses and I’m grateful to my family and friends like you who were there every single day.”
