“I Was Wrong!” – Jeremy Clarkson Bows his Head after Driving Off 2 Pub Experts!
Jeremy Clarkson has seemingly backtracked after a frosty altercation on Clarkson’s Farm. The former Top Gear host, 65, was seen on a number of occasions bickering with pub consultants Sue and Rachel Hawkins on the fourth season of the show.
However, he has now conceded the pair may have “had a point” in the intense discussions, which led to backlash for the duo. Jeremy initially hired the pair part way through the fourth season of the show in a bid to help get his new pub up and running.
He was hoping the pair, whose career has seen them turn around numerous failing venues, could add the special touch to his The Farmer’s Dog public house. But the personalities seemed to clash as their plans were revealed.

Among the issues Jeremy picked at in their plans was the establishment’s barstools. He also had an exception to the pub’s overall cleanliness on the day it opened. But one huge issues seemed to be the costly transformation of the pub’s decking.
In one scene, Jeremy was left gobsmacked with their pricing. “First on our list, covering the deck with some jumbrellas,” Rachel told the presenter before revealing the quick turnaround that was needed.
“(They’re) three enormous umbrellas to cover the entire deck, approximately £40,000,” she told a bewildered Jeremy. As she and Sue continued to lay out their plans, Jeremey felt the need to bring it back to the costings.
“Sorry, you’re saying words… £40,000 for three umbrellas. £40,000 for three umbrellas!” he gasped. “I’m well aware we need umbrellas, I know that, but I really genuinely believe that’s nuts.”
Rachel quickly fired back with a confident response as to why they were so costly, saying it was due to the size of the space. She also admitted getting smaller offerings would have made it “look like a sea of umbrellas”.
Despite battling their corner, Jeremy rejected the idea and opted for a canopy. However, he soon realised his errors, noting it had left his dining room looking “unbelievably dark”. “That could be an expensive mistake,” he sheepishly concurred.
Such was the clashing, Sue and Rachel ended up leaving the project just 48 hours after opening. Now, despite backlash, Jeremy has admitted he could’ve dealt with things better.
Following the season finale, Jeremy took to social media to offer his input. He admitted he should have listened to the women from the start as h has since had to pay the price for the “jumbrellas”.
“Turns out Sue and Rachel had a point,” Clarkson admitted to his Instagram followers. He added: “@thefarmersdogpub did need big umbrellas after all!!”
Showing the new look decking in the upload, followers questioned whether Jeremy was trying to stop the level of backlash the women received following their exit. One user wrote in the comments section: “I feel this post it to try and halt the backlash the pair have been getting from the show, umbrellas do however look great. Best show I’ve watched in ages.”
Another questioned: “Wonder if he got them for under 40k.”
