‘I’M NO LONGER USEFUL’ – Lorraine Kelly leaves fans Heartbroken over ITV’s Brut@L Treatment. ‘SO UNFAIR!’ Why not This Morning instead?

Lorraine has been one of the shows that’s been hit the hardest by ITV’s daytime cuts, with the morning show being cut down to just 30 minutes and fewer annual shows. However, some viewers are convinced that they’ve discovered the real reason for the show’s big schedule changes.
The new changes will see Lorraine become a 30-minute programme, airing on weekdays. However, the show will not only air for 30 weeks of the year, with Good Morning Britain airing for an extra hour during its off-weeks.

While ITV has revealed that the changes will allow for savings to be reinvested into other genres, the news has left some Lorraine fans wondering whether part of the reason for the show’s cuts is down the satirical social media account that highlighted how much host Lorraine Kelly was on air.
Responding to the news on X, one fan wrote: “This is because of that account that continuously counted the amount of times Lorraine presented every day throughout last year.”
Another said: “I do genuinely wonder if this would be happening if @LorraineKWatch hadn’t highlighted just how often she’s off. Like, I’m sure they knew, but at the same time that account brought it to the forefront. Seems it was first on the minds of producers when cost cutting talks started.”
While a third wrote: “That is Lorraine hosting today twitter has really hurt a nerve then.”
Meanwhile, one viewer came to Lorraine’s defence, writing: “Am not a great fan of @lorraine but watch it now & again. I don’t understand why she’s criticised for having off-season days off. Other live daytime presenters have weeks off at a time so her days off are probably the same as them. @GMB & @loosewomen change teams each day.”
The Mirror has approached ITV for comment.
The ‘Where is Lorraine?’ X account regularly posted about the Scottish star, highlighting when she was hosting Lorraine and when she wasn’t. Lorraine responded to the account last February, telling BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s House: “The amount of space I occupy in people’s heads is quite bizarre.”
She added: “It’s fine, I don’t mind, I don’t care. Probably would have cared before but I really don’t now, it’s absolutely fine. To be honest, you should never comment on things like that if you don’t know what’s going on in people’s lives.
“I am having to take quite a few Fridays off because of my mum’s really not well, so I can go home now and spend some more time with her, probably a bit more than I have been able to, so that’s happening just now but that will change.”
However, earlier this year, Lorraine said that she actually found the account “really hurtful” – prompting the account’s creator to delete it altogether. They said: “I have always said that if Lorraine or her team reached out and asked me to stop this account then I would.
“While I have not had contact with Lorraine or anybody affiliated with her, her comments in this weekend’s The Guardian make it clear that the joke has run its course and it is time for it to end.
“I have said time and time again that this was only ever meant to be fun and I’m very grateful to everybody who has enjoyed it with me. There was never any intention of hurting Lorraine’s feelings and I am sorry if I have done so. Goodbye my Lorrainvirstines.”
