Rob Marciano, the meteorologist fired from ABC News earlier this year following reports of inappropriate behavior, has found a new home at CBS News.

According to Oliver Darcy’s Status newsletter, the 55-year-old has been hired to join the network’s expanding weather team.

Marciano’s departure from ABC came after multiple complaints from network staff about his behavior, including a heated altercation with a Good Morning America producer.

His dismissal followed an alleged pattern of incidents, including one in 2022 that led to him being temporarily removed from the morning show’s studio.

Marciano was reportedly ‘banned’ from the morning show’s studio after making a colleague uncomfortable, according to Page Six. Sources cited anger management issues he was facing while going through a divorce, describing ‘a number of alarming events.’

Following his exit from ABC, The Daily Beast revealed that Marciano had been taken off the air for at least a month in 2022 and required to undergo anger management due to alleged inappropriate remarks made to a female producer.

Despite the controversies surrounding his exit from ABC, Marciano has managed to secure a position at CBS News. His connection to Wendy Fisher, a former ABC News executive now leading CBS News’ weather operation, may have played a role in his hiring.

It remains unclear when Marciano will return to the airwaves on CBS. The network has not yet released any official details about his role or on-air schedule.

Back in May, it was announced that Marciano, 55, was fired two years after he was yanked off air for ‘anger issues.’

Marciano joined Good Morning America in 2014, stepping into Ginger Zee’s weekend role after she was promoted to the daily broadcast to replace chief meteorologist Sam Champion.

However, their relationship was reportedly rocky for years, according to an anonymous media executive who spoke with the New York Post.

While the source noted that Marciano’s ‘hot temper’ caused problems on set, they also mentioned that Zee could be ‘nasty’ at times.

‘I think she brought out the worst in him. I’m not giving him a pass,’ the source remarked. ‘It’s sad because they are both genuinely interested in the science of weather, but unfortunately, their personalities didn’t mesh.’

The executive described 43-year-old as a ‘know-it-all’ who often acted as an ‘alpha,’ treating Marciano more like a ‘beta.’ ‘They were more equals in experience than Ginger was with Sam,’ they added.

Zee, who joined Good Morning America in 2011, reportedly ‘pulled rank’ over assignments when Marciano joined the network, which coincided with the launch of a 24/7 weather unit for ABC News, GMA, and World News Tonight.

‘If you disagree with her, she references her Twitter followers, saying, ‘You are wrong; my followers on Twitter loved it,” the media executive said.

The source noted that when Marciano was unhappy about something, it was apparent to others. ‘He lost his cool in meetings when he received news he didn’t like,’ they said.

Another source close to Zee, 43, asserted that Marciano had ‘behavioral’ issues. ‘Ginger is a collaborative, inclusive, and hard-working leader who is well-respected by her colleagues and has never had a complaint about her working style,’ they stated, adding that any other suggestions were ‘s3xist.’
