Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts had a funny reason for his touchdown run against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
Hurts and the Eagles struck first in the Divisional-Round fixture, with the quarterback taking off on a 44-yard rush to put his team ahead.
Asked about the play by reporters after the fixture, Hurts joked that star running back Saquon Barkley needed a break so he offered to take off on a scoring run first.
“Saquon needed a break so I told him I’ll do it first,” he quipped, “get me a piece.”
If Barkley was keen on saving some energy, it seems like it was a great decision, given that he rushed for a total of 205 yards on 26 carries to score twice.
One of his TDs came courtesy of a 78-yard rush in the fourth quarter.
