Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts had a funny reason for his touchdown run against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
Hurts and the Eagles struck first in the Divisional-Round fixture, with the quarterback taking off on a 44-yard rush to put his team ahead.
Asked about the play by reporters after the fixture, Hurts joked that star running back Saquon Barkley needed a break so he offered to take off on a scoring run first.
“Saquon needed a break so I told him I’ll do it first,” he quipped, “get me a piece.”
If Barkley was keen on saving some energy, it seems like it was a great decision, given that he rushed for a total of 205 yards on 26 carries to score twice.
One of his TDs came courtesy of a 78-yard rush in the fourth quarter.

Jalen Hurts To Be Limited In Training This Week
While Jalen Hurts appeared to be in a great mood after the win, he is dealing with an injury.
The QB got hurt on a sack in the first half of the game and needed treatment in the medical tent. However, he didn’t end up missing any snaps.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Hurts is expected to play against the Commanders next Sunday but will likely be limited in training during the week.
Hurts returned from a concussion suffered near the end of the regular season to start against the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round.
