The 2024 NFL regular season just ended, but Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has already emerged as the biggest name to monitor on the trade block.

After the Dolphins lost to the New York Jets on Sunday to finish 8-9, Tyreek Hill indicated that he’ll request a trade in the offseason. The 30-year-old said he’d have to do what’s best for his family and said, “I’m out”, before posting the following message to Miami fans on X/Twitter:

In August, Hill agreed to a reworked three-year extension worth $90 million. But the eight-time Pro Bowler had an awfully disappointing season for his standards, finishing with 81 catches for 959 yards and six touchdowns.

Tyreek Hill relies heavily on his speed, and he’s only going to get slower with his 31st birthday approaching. So Miami’s best bet is to trade the future Hall of Famer now while his value is high, then use the additional cap space to address other needs.

If Hill hits the trade block, Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys should have Miami GM Chris Grier on speed dial. Because if there’s one team who should be all-in on the Hill trade sweepstakes, it’s Dallas.

When healthy, a Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb-led offense is a top-five unit. Prescott missed nine games this year with a hamstring injury, but the lack of WR depth behind Lamb was also problematic in Dallas’ 7-10 season. Jalen Tolbert was second on the team with just 610 yards.

 

Add Tyreek Hill to complement Prescott, Lamb and 1,000-yard rusher Rico Dowdle, however, and you have the makings of a Super Bowl contender. And the Cowboys would have by far the NFL’s best offense with Hill as their No. 2 receiver.

What Cowboys Should Offer Dolphins For Tyreek Hill

Hill’s age means Miami won’t get anything close to what they surrendered to land him from the Kansas City Chiefs three years ago. But with Dallas in win-now mode, Jones oughta be aggressive on the trade market.

A fair offer for Hill would be Dallas’ 2025 second-round pick and a conditional 2026 fourth-round pick that can become a third depending on his performance. That’s a deal that works for all parties, giving Miami additional cap room and draft capital to find another stud WR to replace Hill.
