TODAY fans have promised to boycott the morning show and watch Good Morning America instead.
They are slamming Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin’s “tone deaf” behavior.

Craig, 44, posted a photo of himself on the beach to Instagram reading Savannah’s new book – Mostly What God Does: Reflections on Seeking and Finding His Love Everywhere.
The book came out on February 20 and Savannah’s Today co-hosts all got copies.
“Out of the office and been off the grid for a few and missed the celebration of faith,” Craig captioned his post.
“Reading the deeply personal book my dear friend @savannahguthrie wrote about God’s abundant and omnipresent love. Proud. Just so proud.”
“Worth a read for sure. Happy it’s sparked so many conversations. Back to reading and doing very little….” he ended.
Savannah, 52, commented that she loved him and to enjoy it with a rose.
Most fans loved that the hosts support each other, but others were tired of them always talking about religion.
ANGRY FANS
Some fans said they will now only watch GMA because of it.
“This caused us to switch to GMA this week. We still get to watch a Roker! I don’t think we’ll be back, Today Show,” one fan said in the comments.
Al Roker’s wife, Deborah Roberts, appears on GMA occasionally.
Savannah replaced on Today as she takes abrupt absence after ‘disrespectful’ interview
“Please make it stop!! I’ve had to switch from the Today 700 club to GMA this week.. wasn’t one day enough? If I was paying to advertise on the today show, I’d be pissed. Equal time for other religions and atheists?” said another.
“Has The Today Show changed in a push Christianity show?” a third added.
“@savannahguthrie quit using the show to promote your religious views. We don’t care,” said another.
SAVANNAH’S PAIN
During an interview about her book, Savannah was brought to tears about her dad’s death.
The anchor took part in a discussion about Mostly What God Does at the George W. Bush Presidential Center with interviewer Charlotte Jones on February 17.
Charlotte, 57, the executive vice president and chief brand officer of the Dallas Cowboys, was the guest moderator for the conversation.
“You lost your father when you were 16, and I know that was very traumatic,” Charlotte said during the interview as she went to broach the difficult topic with Savannah.
“Do you mind taking us back?”
“Yeah, my father was a larger than life, amazing – I can’t believe you’re making me cry, I haven’t cried about this in a long time – deeply faithful man,” Savannah replied.
She took a moment to collect herself as she was visibly teary-eyed.
“I can’t believe I’m crying. Darn you Charlotte, you shouldn’t be a Today Show host!”
“You know how many times I tried to make President Bush cry? Never!” Savannah lashed out, jokingly, while continuing to cry softly.
She was previously a White House correspondent during the Bush presidency.
Charlotte laughed, as did the entire audience, at Savannah’s reaction.
“He was our whole lives, and he passed away,” Savannah continued.
“He had a heart attack, I was 16. I came home one night and he was gone.”
“Losing my dad was a seminal event and I talk a lot about grief in the book,” she ended.
