OUCH! Today’s Carson Daly brutally mocks guest’s accent but she earns a round of applause as she claps back at host

TODAY’s Carson Daly has mocked a food contributor for the way she says the word oil.

Today Food contributor Elizabeth Heiskell joined Carson and the rest of the hosts to show how to cook a new dish.

The pair worked to make a weeknight pork tenderloin dinner with a sweet glaze.

Carson helped Elizabeth prep the meal and asked questions about its different ingredients.

Elizabeth moved on to working with the cabbage side that was going to go with the meal.

She talked about adding butter and oil to the cabbage to help it caramelize.

With her Southern accent, Elizabeth pronounced oil in an bit of a peculiar way.

Carson couldn’t help but repeat the word the same way that she said it in a mocking tone.

The other hosts joined in on picking at Elizabeth in a mocking affect.

“I don’t know if I have that,” Carson joked.

The cook shot back: “Let me tell you something, I’m from Mississippi, we use more oil than anyone on the planet, so we decide how to say it.”

Carson ceded to Elizabeth that he’d let her have that, admitting he lost that round.

MAKING MOVES

Recently, Carson announced an update ahead of Season 2 as Barmageddon goes on tour.

The official Barmageddon Instagram account posted a new poster announcing some of the show’s tour dates.

The image was captioned: “Mark your calendars! We’re bringin’ the fun and games to you! Come out, spin the wheel, and play some games! We throw a hell of a party. More details to come. #Barmageddon.”

The poster pointed out three locations: Phoenix, Nashville, and Los Angeles.

It looks like the show will be going on at least through November.

There are likely additional dates being added with other pieces of info about what fans and attendees can expect.

Carson will likely be on the tour with co-hosts Blake Shelton and Nikki Garcia.

That may mean he misses a few dates for his Today appearances in the future.

MEAN GIRLS

Recently, Carson paused a live segment on Today to tease Hoda Kotb.

He joked that the host calls Savannah Guthrie a “loser” during a certain activity.

On Thursday’s show, Carson, 50, led the PopStart segment, which talks about the current pop culture news.

The host showed a new commercial for Walmart for Black Friday.

The cast of Mean Girls reunited to make a parody of the movie for the ad.

“Next up, Mean Girls, take a look,” Carson said, introducing the topic.

A clip from the original movie was played, which featured Regina George (Rachel McAdams), Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan), Karen Smith (Amanda Seyfried), and Gretchen Weiners (Lacey Chabert).

Regina, Karen, and Gretchen were in Regina’s car when Regina honked at Cady and said: “Get in loser. We’re going shopping.”

Hoda, 59, let out a quiet chuckle and a “God.”

Carson, however, teased his co-host and said: “That’s how Hoda picks up Savannah.”

The co-hosts laughed as Carson shrugged, tilted his head, and imitated: “Get in, loser.”

As his co-hosts laughed, Carson aired the commercial, which featured many actors from the original movie.

HODA UP

This isn’t the first time Hoda was mocked during a POPStart segment.

Earlier this week, she reacted to a Saturday Night Live skit that featured a child dressing up as her for Halloween.

One day before the holiday, Carson talked about celebrities who showed off their costumes ahead of October 31.

“If you’re still in need of a last-minute idea for tomorrow, SNL gave a great suggestion on Saturday’s sketch, poking fun at SAG-AFTRA approved costumes,” he said.

Cast member Sarah Sherman dressed up as Fran Drescher, the president of SAG-AFTRA.

She told trick-or-treaters which costumes were approved and which were not.

SAG-AFTRA is still currently on strike, which affected which costumes those in the union could wear.

“Unfortunately this year, you can’t be Yoda, but you can be Hoda,” Sarah said.

A child actress walked on set with a wig on and a business suit like Hoda would wear on the morning show.

She had a wine glass in her hand and said: “The wig is fake, but the wine is real.”

The little girl then drank what was in her glass, most likely apple juice, and then walked away.
