Not many people had the Houston Texans doing anything against the Los Angeles Chargers.
However, the players still had to play the game.
In a quest for their first playoff victory since the 2018 campaign, Los Angeles came out dominating, taking an early 6-0 lead.
Things would change in a weird way when a broken play got the Texans’ offense going and shifted the energy in the contest.
C.J. Stroud had trouble fielding a snap but still was able to roll to his right and find Xavier Hutchinson for a 34-yard gain on third-and-16. Stroud eventually ended that possession with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Nico Collins.
The Texans took a 7-6 lead and would never relinquish that lead.
Chargers QB Justin Herbert had thrown just three interceptions all season long but had four on Saturday, battling Houston’s defense.
He ended the contest just 14-of-32 for 242 yards with a touchdown and four picks.
It was a shocking end to their promising season.
It was so stressful that Chargers wide receiver DJ Chark decided to relax by doing something that could get him suspended.
The Chargers wideout took to his Instagram story and posted a marijuana joint in his hand and wrote, “Shoutout my ni–a bud. Been a long 3 1/2 months.”
Chark had one catch on four targets for ten yards.
What’s Next for the Chargers After Playoff Loss?
Fourteen teams earned a playoff berth and had a chance to win a Lombardi Trophy, and many people thought the Chargers were one of those teams making it to the second round.
The road to New Orleans for Super Bowl 59 stopped in the Wild Card round for them following their 32-12 loss to the Texans.
The offseason brings new possibilities and optimism.
The team desperately needs to add more talent to the wideout position.
