TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie has yelled ‘she should count her cash!’ in a bid to make fun of Carson Daly.
Savannah threw shade at her co-host after they talked about a story that happened with Carson during the Emmy Awards ceremony.

During Tuesday’s episode of the Today Show, the crew discussed The Bear star Ayo Edebiri.
Ayo won an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress on The Bear.
When her name was called, she searched the crowd for someone to take her things so she could go up to the stage and accept her award.
She ended up asking Carson, 50, to do it.
“Carson had his own viral moment when last night. He was seated next to The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri,” Savannah, 52, recounted during the episode’s POPStart segment.
Carson usually hosts that part of the show.
“When she won for Best Supporting Actress, she turned to Mr. Daly and asked him to hold her purse,” Savannah added as the Today Show crew laughed.
During an interview with Ayo after winning her Emmy, she mused that she “hoped Carson Daly still had all her stuff.”
“If my stuff is gone when I get back to my seat, I know that Carson Daly took it,” she joked at the time.
Savannah added a jab in after the Today Show hosts laughed at the story.
“She should count her cash,” she said, which prompted everyone to laugh even more.
Carson had been absent for the POPStart segment and couldn’t defend himself that day.
SAV SLAMMED
During a recent cooking segment on the Today Show, celebrity guest Jamie Lee Curtis had some words to exchange with Savannah.
The actress appeared on the Today Show to show off a recipe for a glazed lemon cake.
Savannah introduced the cake as an “outrageously easy” dessert to prep.
Jamie Lee, 65, herself got the recipe from a book called The Cake Mix Doctor.
The mix takes regular lemon cake mix and some of the usual ingredients you’d see in a lemon cake.
However, this one added Jello instead as “the secret” to add a moist consistency.
All the while, the actress worked on mixing all the ingredients and preparing the cake.
When the cake was ready to be glazed, Savannah, 52, had a question.
“Do you have to wait for it to cool before you glaze?” she asked Jamie Lee.
“No…yes,” the Halloween star replied, changing her answer.
“Is that a dumb question?” a shy Savannah asked.
“No,” Jamie Lee replied after a brief pause.
“Way to show me up on national television! Interesting! I see how it is around here,” she joked while adding vanilla glaze to the lemon cake.
Everyone cracked up as Jamie began using a bottle to lace the glaze around the top of the cake.
The pair then continued the cooking segment.
SAV’S STRUGGLES
During Tuesday’s episode of the morning show, Savannah confessed that she was looking to minimize how much alcohol she drinks this year.
The show’s anchors recently revealed what they were keeping and cutting out in their respective lives in a behind-the-scenes video shared on Today’s Instagram account.
Al Roker started the clip off; Savannah, Craig Melvin, and Sheinelle Jones came after him.
Each TV star told the camera what was going to be in and out for them this year.
The Princesses Wear Pants author disclosed that “authenticity and hair bows” were in for her in 2024.
When asked what would be out for her, Savannah said that she hoped to cut out “weekday drinking, at least for January,” although she was unsure if she could.
In the comment section of Today’s post, fans addressed what Savannah was attempting to quit.
“@savannahguthrie there is absolutely no shame in weekday drinking!! It’s staying in!,” a fan asserted.
A second fan asked: “Oh dear God, really Savannah.”
FAKING IT
Savannah’s drinking habits came into question during an episode of Today that aired in November 2022.
Sharp-eyed fans claimed that Savannah faked chugging her beer down in one take on live television because there was no foam on the top of her drink.
Today re-shared the clip of Savannah and Ashton Kutcher with their beers on their Instagram and fans picked up the tiny detail.
One person wrote: “No way that was a beer that Savannah was drinking. It had no bubbles or foam.”
Another fan agreed and claimed: “I don’t think Savannah was drinking beer… doesn’t look like it (compared to Ashton’s).”
A third chimed in: “It was also room temperature which makes it easier to drink. Ashton’s glass had condensation but Savannah’s did not.”
Yet a fourth said: “Hers wasn’t beer. It was probably apple cider. There was no beer foam on hers.”
One user exclaimed: “Savanna’s was fake!”
