Now, Stephen has let slip on his time filming the show, in which he described it as “emotionally violent like a Chinese foot massage”.
Stephen discussed the show for the very first time as he recorded a live podcast in London but refused to give spoilers as to how the game would go.
The top TV star said: You know it is absolutely agony but you sort of want to do it again. It is emotionally violent but you kind of love it.
“Obviously, I can’t say a word about what is in this recently recorded celebrity version I suppose.
“I am certainly not telling you if I am a traitor or a faithful. I am one or the other.”
He also went on to dish that not everything remained harmonious between the group of celebs as he seemingly confirmed a cast feud erupted as filming got underway.
The star added: ““I was with a fascinating group of people like Jonathan Ross, Tom Daley, Clare Balding and Paloma Faith. They were lovely, an extraordinary bunch.
“We all got on terribly, well until the game started.
“There is something about the structure of that game. I mean, that’s what I agreed to do it. I’m not trying to make a grand or anything.”
Actor Stephen went on to reveal that he had previously shunned offers for rival shows Strictly Come Dancing and I’m A Celebrity, but opted to sign up for Traitors following the huge success of its first few series.

He said: “I have said no to any number of Strictlys and Get Me Out of Heres as it is just not my kind of thing. But this, I watched the first and second series and it is such a clever game.
“It’s so extraordinary what it does to the psychology of the individual.
“And I just thought it would be really interesting to play it. And what an opportunity to do so. And that’s what I found.”
As well as Stephen, other stars on the programme include rugby player Joe Marler, actress Tameka Empson, singer Cat Burns and comedian Lucy Beaumont.
The programme, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, filmed earlier this year ahead of its debut this autumn.
How does The Traitors work and who hosts it?

The Traitors first launched in the UK in 2022, after the Dutch format was acquired by the BBC.
Claudia Winkleman is the show’s host, and has now hosted all three series to date.
How does it work?
It is a reality game show that involves 22 contestants, and some of them are chosen to be The Traitors.
The Traitors sees a group of contestants taking part in “the ultimate game of truth and deception”.
The group of contestants are competing for the chance to walk away with a huge cash prize.
While navigating through a series of challenges, the team are also tasked with figuring out who the Traitors are in the group (usually three contestants).
Each night, the Traitors gather to “eliminate” one of the Faithful, removing them from the competition
Meanwhile, the traitors can be “banished” if they’re successfully outed as a traitor by a faithful.
The winners of the show are either the Traitor who remains undetected or the Faithfuls if they successfully eliminate all the Traitors.
The prize sees the winner could get £120K.
