A graduate of the University of North Texas, he began his career in the early 2010s working for various outlets.
He then gained recognition in April 2015, when he raised money for a pizza shop, called Memories Pizza, located in Indiana, that refused to provide its services to an LGBT couple and had to close after receiving backlash for their decision.
