Fox News anchor Sean Hannity has been divorced from his wife for years, as the conservative talk show host’s endless workload ultimately ‘broke his marriage’, a close friend exclusively told.

The 58-year-old has been separated from former journalist Jill Rhodes, 57, for nearly five years, but managed to keep it quiet.

Page Six first reported the divorce between the pair, who married in 1993 and share two children.

But the family friend explained to DailyMail.com that Hannity and Rhodes still have a great co-parenting relationship and when together, ‘you don’t even realize they split’.

The insider said Hannity took the divorce hard and blamed it on his endless workload, saying the cable news host ‘didn’t slow down, [and] it unfortunately broke his marriage.’

They said: ‘Friends and family have known for years.

‘Our families were together as recently as Christmas 2018 where Jill hosted his birthday party at their Florida home.

‘Sean and Jill are great parents, when together you don’t even realize they split.

‘Jill’s brother, Sean’s brother in-law, still works with Sean on his TV show.

‘Personally the reason for the divorce, Sean does three hours of radio each day in the city followed by TV in primetime, his workload created a lot of time away and it was tough on the marriage.

‘Sean’s a huge family man, this was hard on him.

‘Sean came from nothing, had a workaholic upbringing and between his shows, books, speeches he just didn’t slow down, it unfortunately broke his marriage.’

In a statement provided to Page Six, the former spouses provided a joint statement that said: ‘Sean and Jill are committed to working together for the best interests of their children.

‘Amicable agreements were entered into over four years ago between Sean and Jill.

‘They maintain a close relationship as parents to their children.

‘Neither will have any further comments and ask for the sake of their children that their privacy be respected.’

The couple used to share a home in Long Island and a home in Naples, Florida.

A source denied to Page Six that either had been involved with other people at the time of their separation.
