The Chase viewers raged ‘they should be ashamed’ at one contestant’s strategy, which they claimed left them so infuriated that they had to switch off.
Monday’s instalment of the ITV quiz show hosted by Bradley Walsh, 64, saw four contestants Daniel, Bobbie, Nicola, and Adam attempt to win a prize and take on Paul Sinha, dubbed The Sinnerman.
Daniel played a strong cash builder round and achieved £6,000 but when he faced Chaser Paul, was presented with three options.
He could choose between £1,000, £6,000 or £30,000.
The player went for the lower offer of £1,000 meaning he had a greater head start against Paul.
However, some viewers were disappointed in his decision and took to social media to share their verdicts.

One posted on X: ‘It’s become so boring… just get rid of the low offer.’
Someone else chimed in: ‘Teams are normally influenced by the first player, how can you do that, what’s the point of getting in The Chase winning 6k to go low, should be ashamed of himself.’
Another said: ‘The low offer already, what’s wrong with this man?’
While a third added: ‘First player going for the low offer. What’s [the] point?!’
However, others jumped to his defence and said: ‘He might have taken the low offer but he’s the only one through so far.’
Someone else commented: ‘Can’t believe he went low after getting £6k. Smh.’
Another quipped: ‘The Chase needs to get rid of the low offer option if it wants to keep going – with an audience!’
While someone else raged: ‘I’ve switched it off already, what’s the point in waiting nearly half an hour now to see them all play for around 8k in total, even Flog It looks appealing to watch now and starting in a min. #TheChase.’
Daniel’s decision paid off and he made it back to his seat and through to the final.
While another player, Adam, gambled and went for the higher offer of £59,000, but didn’t manage to beat Paul.
Daniel was the only player who made it to the last round against the Chaser, though he didn’t win in the end.

It comes after The Chase fans ‘switched over to House Of Games’ after one of contestant’s irritating habit during the ‘worst episode ever’ on an episode last month – and it had nothing to do with taking the lower offer.
The instalment saw Campbell, Pamela, Hank and Rosie take on Shaun Wallace AKA The Dark Destroyer in a bid to win some money.
Rosie from Lancaster was the only player who managed to get to the final round and see if she could beat the Chaser.
However things didn’t go well for her as she opted to ‘pass’ a lot of the questions that were asked by host Bradley – and she ended up getting caught by Shaun.
Bradley told her: ‘Rosie, it was tough on your own but you were caught with 51 seconds remaining..
‘That’s another 13 questions so you know he is hitting a target of 24 but that’s the way it goes. You need a full house and it’s as simple as that.’
Those watching at home took to X to share their frustration over her decision to not answer any of the questions.
