TOTAL SH0CK: After Eileen and son Jason’s exit, a THIRD character may LEAVE – leaving Coronation Street fans on Edge!
Coronation Street has confirmed two more departures – with the fate of a third Weatherfield resident hanging in the balance.
Back in January it was revealed that Sue Cleaver, 61 – who has played Eileen Grimshaw in the ITV soap for 25 years – would be leaving the Cobbles to pursue other things.
Two months later it was confirmed that the soap star had already filmed her final scenes.
Then it was revealed that Eileen’s exit from the show would include her son Jason Grimshaw, meaning that actor Ryan Thomas, 40, would be reprising his role for the storyline.
So viewers know that Eileen and her son will be leaving, however according to The Mirror, there could also be a third character that ends up fleeing Weatherfield as well.
Corrie fans are desperate to know when Eileen’s final scene will be on their screens and the lead up to her departure will begin to air this week.

Eileen and her son will be leaving, however according to The Mirror, there could also be a third character that ends up fleeing Weatherfield as well – her partner George (pictured, middle)
Eileen’s partner George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) will play a big role in the storyline.
In scenes yet to air on our screens later this week, George is set to ask Eileen to marry and will do anything to be with her – even if that means moving away.
But awkwardly Eileen is unsure if she even wants George to be part of her future.
And next week will see Eileen’s eldest son Jason return to the Cobbles – and he wants her to leave to move to Thailand with him.
The builder has his own business in the Southeast Asian country and wants to join forces with his mum to become business partners.
But when George is mentioned in the plans, Eileen doesn’t seem keen – and when he finds out about it, he tries to put things right.
George ends up offering to take the trio on holiday to see if they will get on, but is it not known if Eileen agrees to it.
While George’s future in Weatherfield is very uncertain at the moment, Eileen and Jason’s final scenes air next week.
Speaking to The Mirror about her on-screen son Ryan’s involvement in the storyline, Sue said: ‘Ryan was there from the start, and he was inconveniently living in Thailand, and it wouldn’t be too far of a jump to expect that if Eileen was going to make a leap, that she would involve her son.
‘And so when I decided to leave, like over a year ago, I rang Ryan, and I said, “Ryan, I’m going to tell them that I’m going, and if they ask me about exits, I’d really like to say that you’d come back and take me out, but I don’t know whether they’d go for it or not”.
‘And he just went, “Oh my gosh, of course, I would”.
‘Which was so lovely for me.
‘And it was just so nice to have him back and filming those final scenes with him. It just felt like I’d come full circle really.’
Sue isn’t the only star who is set to leave Corrie.
Craig Tinker bloodied in final Coronation Street scenes after attack
Mick (Joe Layton and Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty) are leaving in the summer, as well as Adam Hussain who plays Adam Hussain.
Sue Devaney, who plays Debbie Webster, is leaving the soap next year, as well as Billy Mayhew star Daniel Brocklebank.
Yazmeen Nazir, Max Turner, Rob Donovan, Daisy Midgeley, Julie Carp and Craig Tinker have also left the show.
Simon Barlow, Tommy Oprington and Beth Tinker left last year.
