“Travis, I’m sorry”: GMA host Michael Strahan reveals ‘Behind-The-Scenes’ stories about Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift that have fans Buzzing!
Michael Strahan understands how big it is to have Taylor Swift dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. During his appearance at 4SE, Strahan talked about the impact Swift has had on the league.
“Sports have leaked into pop culture,” Michael Strahan said, per the Sports Business Journal. “Taylor Swift is one of the best things to happen in the NFL.”
Swift became part of the NFL when she began dating Travis Kelce in the summer of 2023. She has appeared at multiple NFL games in the last two seasons, including the last two Super Bowls.
Strahan isn’t the only notable NFL figure to praise Swift. In January 2024, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell talked about Swift’s association with the league. “Having the ‘Taylor Swift effect’ is also a positive,” Goodell said, per Fox Sports. “Both Travis and Taylor are wonderful young people, and they seem very happy. She knows great entertainment, and I think that’s why she loves NFL football.”

Goodell added “I think it’s great to have her a part of it. Obviously, it creates a buzz. It creates another group of young fans, particularly young women, that are interested in seeing why she is going to this game, why she is interested in this game. Besides [her relationship with] Travis, she is a football fan, and I think that’s great for us.”
Swift hasn’t publicly said much about her relationship with Travis Kelce, besides her interview with Time Magazine in December 2023. During the interview, Swift talked about how the relationship with the three-time Super Bowl champion began.
“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was meta as hell,” she said. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to know each other. By the time I sent to that first game, we were a couple.”
When it was pointed out that it was big for the NFL to have Swift fans watching the NFL because of her, Taylor Swift said, “Football is awesome, as it turns out. I’ve been missing out my whole life.”
