Fox News host John Roberts reacts to claim by El0n Musk’s chatbot Grok that he is d3ad

Fox News anchor John Roberts has hit back at false claims made by El0n Musk’s chatbot that he is d3ad.
After Roberts, who co-anchors America Reports, posted a video of himself playing the guitar on Friday, Grok declared he had croaked it days before he shared it.
It comes after Sam Altman, the chief executive of OpenAI, which is behind AI chatbot ChatGPT, dismissed a $97.4bn (£78.4bn) bid to take over the firm by a group of investors led by Musk.
Grok claimed: “John Roberts, the musician mentioned, recently passed away on February 3, 2025, which might add a layer of poignancy to this post showcasing his guitar playing.”
It added the video “might be of interest to fans of his music or those following his career, especially considering his collaborations with Tony Barrand and his involvement with groups like Ye Mariners All and the Broken Strings Band”.

Roberts took to social media on Monday to clarify he was not d3ad and appeared shocked about the AI’s declaration.
He said: “Oh my … either Grok’s algorithm needs a little tweak… or I’m in trouble.”
He later appeared on-air on his show, proving that he is not deceased.
Grok appears to have gotten confused between the host and an English guitarist named John Roberts who di3d in Schenectady, New York on February 3.
Grok has previously been slammed by experts who warned that it is unleashing a “torrent of misinformation” through its image generation tool.
The image tool does not have guardrails that are used by its rivals such as ChatGPT, which rejects prompts for images that show real-world vi0lence and explicit content.

Grok allows degrading and offensive images to be created that often show politicians, celebrities or religious figures in the n::de or carrying out violent acts.
The chatbot also does not appear to block generation of images of copyrighted characters because many images of cartoon and comic book characters taking part in n3fari0us or illegal activities are shared.
Daniel Card, fellow of BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, criticized Grok, saying it was causing the spread of misinformation and disinformation on X that is a “societal crisis” because of its potential impact.
In response to the bid for ChatGPT alt wrote on X, which is owned by Musk: “No thank you but we will buy twitter for $9.74 billion if you want.”
