TV SHOCKWAVE: Viewers erupt in fury at ITV after Jack P. Shepherd’s Celebrity Big Brother win. What’s the truth behind this controversial moment?
Celebrity Big Brother viewers slammed ITV as many asked the broadcaster ‘what’s the rush’ during the show’s live final.
Friday night (April 25) saw the hit reality series air its grand finale of the latest series. Following many twists and turns it came down to the remaining six famous contestants.
This included Donna Preston, singer JoJo Siwa, Danny Beard, Coronation Street star Jack P. Shepherd, pop sensation Chesney Hawkes, and former Love Islander Chris Hughes. Fans tuned in with anticipation over who will be crowned the winner.
However, some fans felt like the final was getting through events at break neck speed. Chris Hughes was the first of the night to be evicted from the house but it seemed audience members didn’t have a moment to take a breath before Chesney Hawkes was named in fifth place.

Hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best gave the news before whisking each now ex-housemate off stage. Many watching along from home were quick to react on social media and shared their thoughts with fellow viewers.
No sooner had celebs left the house before ITV quickly went to an advertisement break. However, this didn’t even give much time for fans to vote for their favourite housemate again as lines were closed as the show returned to air.
One person posted: “Why didn’t they do a back door eviction if they need to get them out? This feels too rushed, much like the series to be honest. ITV do better and give us six weeks and proper interviews when they come out.”
Many fans were also unimpressed as the show waited to do double interviews. As a result, Chris was quizzed by AJ and Will alongside Chesney. However, fans quickly noticed that most of the conversation was taken up by the presenters asking about Chris’ friendship with JoJo.

Fans also disliked the joint interviews (Image: ITV)
Another viewer chimed in by saying: “What’s the rush ITV? I feel like I’m living on me nerves!” One person demanded: “Please don’t have six finalists again! This is way too rushed. Doing joint interviews is pretty cr***y at the best of times but on the final is really bad.”
Someone else vented: “Not enjoying how rushed this is. Whose idea was it to have six finalists? Just extend the show and actually give it time to evict housemates through the series.”
Meanwhile one person posted: “This would have been so much better if they’d have done separate exit interviews, feels like everything’s going at 80mph.”
Comedian Donna was named in fourth place. That left Jack, Jojo and Danny in the final three.
