‘Even Space Won’t Save You’: Fox News host Greg Gutfeld ‘THROWS SHADE’ at Katy Perry and Female Celebrities Live on Air! The Reason That Surprised Viewers.
Fox News host Greg Gutfeld is under scrutiny for comments made during his late-night show Gutfeld! on Friday, where he directed a crude joke at singer Katy Perry following her recent trip to space.
“To prepare for her trip on the Blue Origin rocket, Katy Perry said, quote, she read a book on string theory—we’re told she thought it was about the effects of zero gravity on tampons,” Gutfeld said, delivering the line during a segment focused on the Blue Origin flight that took place earlier in the week.
Perry was among six women who took part in the space expedition on Monday, launched by Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin program.
Others on board included Bezos’ fiance Lauren Sanchez, television anchor Gayle King, aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn.
The brief journey, which lasted approximately 11 minutes and reached the edge of space, was widely covered and discussed online. After returning to Earth, Perry described: “I felt super connected to life. So connected to love.”
Her comments, which were intended as heartfelt, were quickly shared across social media, where they were both celebrated and mocked.
Wendy’s social media account responded with a meme, and political commentator Ben Shapiro took aim at her remarks as well.
Gutfeld continued his monologue by targeting other members of the all-female flight crew. Referring to Lauren Sanchez, he said: “There’s a new conspiracy that the Blue Origin crew faked their flight to space.”

Sanchez’s image appeared on the screen as he followed up with: “Come on, what’s fake about this astronaut?”
Gutfeld also referenced the alleged $3,000 handbag gifted to Sanchez by the Kardashians before teasing Gayle King.
Viewers stormed social media to react to Gutfeld’s recent comments, with one writing: “That is a pretty oblique idea of a joke, I think Gutfield is going downhill.”
“He is not funny AT ALL! SMH!” another exclaimed.
One enjoyed the joke, posting on X: “I love Gutfeld’s tampon jokes!”
