Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan are gearing up for a reunion, years after their last shared endeavour. The couple, who wed in 1986, have been familiar faces on British television for many years, co-presenting This Morning and their own programme, Richard and Judy.
While Judy has since retreated from the public eye, Richard remains a regular presenter on Good Morning Britain. However, it appears the duo may be plotting a new venture together.
The couple could soon be launching their own underwear range, having trademarked their name for the sale of various items including fragrances, cosmetics, and other merchandise. The Intellectual Property Office made the application public this week.

The pair first trademarked ‘Richard and Judy’ in 2000 and re-applied in December of the previous year. This decision may have been influenced by a notorious incident at the National Television Awards in 2000, when Judy inadvertently showed her bra.
“Judy’s bra flash was perhaps one of the outstanding moments of their career and may have inspired the couple to consider underwear as an option – and clearly they still think so,” an insider told the Mirror.
“But it’s not the only product they’ll be able to put their name on and they could make a mint.”
Richard and Judy initially met in 1982 while working on separate shows for Granada Television. At that time, both were married to other partners, reports the Express.

“I thought he looked nice. Tall, handsome and all that but I thought the suit was a bit flash. Then, because he was a newbie, I was assigned the job of looking after him,” Judy once recounted to The Mirror on her first impressions of Richard.
After parting ways with their former partners, Judy and Richard wed four years later in Manchester. Richard has openly admitted to his infidelity during his first marriage.
At 21, Richard married Lynda Hooley, acknowledging later that it was a mistake and staying faithful proved difficult. When talking about his past indiscretions during his initial six-year union, Richard disclosed to the Mirror: “Oh lots, numerous, probably in the space of about five years, about 10.”
He also remarked: “Although the marriage had some very happy moments, there was a lot of negativity in it. I’m not using that as an excuse. It’s wrong to have aff@irs, but I was a very young man.”

Richard relishes a harmonious marriage with Judy, and they are parents to Chloe Madeley. Chloe recently offered a glimpse into her life, discussing how she navigates co-parenting with her ex James Haskell.
In a conversation about the longevity of her parents’ relationship, Chloe humorously remarked, “The secret to them having such a long marriage is to not get divorced!”
In her discussion with Closer Magazine, she expanded: “They’ve been together over 40 years and during that time there have been periods where they really struggled, but they kept going and stayed together. I don’t think it was ever bad enough for them to split.”
