Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been fined by the NFL ahead of his upcoming Super Bowl 59 appearance.
The Chiefs star is gearing up to return to the big game for the third consecutive year, with the Philadelphia Eagles now the only team standing in the way of a historic three-peat.
Travis and his teammates will spend the week in New Orleans to prepare for the game and fulfill media obligations, but he will be a bit short in the pocket as the league has punished him for something he did during the AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills last Sunday.
The 35-year-old has been fined $11,255 for taunting after getting into the face of Bills safety Damar Hamlin after a touchdown run from Patrick Mahomes during the first half of the game.
Lineman Jordan Phillips hit Kelce, prompting an obvious flop from the star TE. Phillips was flagged for his reaction, while Kelce escaped scot-free. The penalty didn’t have a significant impact on the game, as the Chiefs took the yardage on their extra-point attempt before Harrison Butker converted.

“We don’t care about the fines! We care about the flags!” one declared.
“God forbid it was flagged at the time. Like it would have been for EVERY SINGLE BILLS PLAYER,” said a second.
“Any other calls they want to fix after the fact?” asked a third.
Of course, others pointed out that it wouldn’t have made a considerable difference as Butker would have made the extra point from 15 yards farther out.
In any case, Kelce won’t mind. He’s playing in the Super Bowl next weekend, after all.
Travis Kelce Got Into Some Unfortunate Trouble In New Orleans During His College Days

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has some unfortunate history with the city of New Orleans as Super Bowl LIX awaits him.
When he hosted “Saturday Night Live” in 2023, Kelce referenced a moment in college that got him in serious trouble.
His back moments include a 2010 suspension from the Cincinnati Bearcats’ football team after a positive test of marijuana.
The Cincinnati Football team was in New Orleans to face the Florida Gators in the Sugar Bowl as the Bearcats were riding a 12-0 record into the matchup.
Due to his failed drug test, Travis Kelce was forced to not play.
The former two-star recruit coming out of high school ended up losing his scholarship and was essentially kicked out.
He would then rejoin the team but as a walk-on. He would also make the decision to switch position since three quarterbacks were ahead of him on the depth chart.

That decision would change the course of history as we know it.
“I got kicked out of college because of (that incident),” Kelce said during an appearance on the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast in July 2023. “I partied a little too much down there, got hit with a drug test, and from that point on, I realized I’ve got to tighten the (expletive) up.
He added: “What it did was it really kicked me into the tight end room. I was still playing QB then. It was like, ‘All right, you can come walk on the team, but we don’t need a quarterback. You can just be an athlete on scout team for a year; we’ll figure it out.’”
Taylor Swift and Donna Kelce Warn Travis Kelce About Bourbon Street
Taylor Swift had a message for Travis Kelce after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end admitted he had ‘unfinished business’ in the city of New Orleans.
Swift cautioned him to stay away from Bourbon Street while he’s in New Orleans aiming for a fourth Super Bowl victory.
Captured in a video, Kelce expressed to his girlfriend and mother, “Take me back to my old New Orleans home. I owe New Orleans a little something.”
Swift playfully warned, “Yeah, no going to Bourbon Street.”
His mom agreed.
