Emmerdale’s Graham makes heartbreaking admission after tragic double d3ath

Emmerdale’s Graham Foster made a heartbreaking admission during the latest episode. ITV soap viewers will know that Graham (played by Andrew Scarborough) was killed off in a whodunnit six years ago.

While his wife, Kim Tate (Claire King), was initially suspected of orchestrating his death, it was actually Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) who went to prison for the crime. Emmerdale fans were therefore stunned to see Graham return to the village during the Corriedale crossover in January.

After making amends with Kim and his former right-hand man, Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), Graham moved into the spare room at Home Farm. He has recently been helping Joe track down the arsonist who has been setting fires across Butler’s Farm, following Joe’s takeover.

Graham came close to uncovering the culprit last week, but the arrival of Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) soon scared the guilty party away.

During Monday’s (June 1) episode, now available to stream on ITVX, Graham spotted smoke in one of the fields and rushed to find Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) watching his car burn.

After pulling Kyle to safety, Graham realised that the youngster was the fire-starter. Later, when they saw Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) approaching, Kyle hid in Graham’s car.

Graham soon allowed Kyle to open up about his motivations and promised to help, but also insisted that Kyle must first confess to Moira and his dad, Cain (Jeff Hordley). That’s not all, as the fire had also reignited a past trauma for Graham.

“Something like that could’ve killed you… Fire doesn’t care how clever you are,” he said, before adding, “I lost my wife in a fire. My unborn child. So, today wasn’t exactly easy to be a part of.”

Kyle responded, “I didn’t know,” and Graham noted, “No, you didn’t.”

Graham went on: “You’re playing with people’s lives, Kyle. I doubt you’ve forgotten shooting Al [Chapman]? So, why risk putting yourself back there again? That car could have gone up very quickly. How do you think your dad and Moira would cope planning your funeral?”

Emmerdale fans will remember that Cheryl Foster (Vanessa Earl) was Graham’s wife until her death. The pair slept together shortly after meeting, and Cheryl fell pregnant. Although Graham didn’t love Cheryl, he married her for the sake of their unborn child.

After dropping Cheryl at her baby shower, Graham got drunk at the pub before later driving his wife home. During the journey, Graham lost control of the car and crashed into a tree. Instead of calling the emergency services, Graham called Kim, who was his lover at the time, before the car exploded, killing both Cheryl and the baby.

Graham recounted the story to Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) back in March 2018, with flashbacks of the accident being shown a few months later.
